I highly doubt it. Remember the skins gave up two first rd picks to go to the no.2 pick, because they knew they had to be high enough to get Griffin and if the colts picked Griffin, they would be able to get Luck instead. Tannehill was projected to be in the low first round and many saw miami's pick of him at n.8 to be a reach as he probaly wouldn't have been picked till mid to late 1st round where skins would have been able to get him without giving up a 1st. The actions though showed shannhan wanted Griffin, and why he put that much effort for him. I don't think it was just the owner, or gm but shannahan wanting him too and thats why they made the move.

Just go back and watch the Chargers game again. Tannehill did two things very well which he did not do at all at the beginning of the season: he sensed the pressure more often than not (like for example on the corner blitz where McKinnie and Brenner block the defensive lineman while the corner goes right by McKinnie, Tannehill knew he was coming and secured the ball) and ran away from it pretty good and the second thing was he stepped up in the pocket veeeery often. So you can't say he's not doing that. He did that in the last game and we have to give him credit for improving this part of his game.
 
I'd be ok with Mike Shanahan. As Offensive Coordinator that is. And only if he doesn't bring his son to be the QBs coach. No way I want one of the two to be he head coach.
 
RT17 also threw a few passes away with pressure. This seems like something an NFL QB should know how to do, but weve got an inexperienced guy who is developing before our eyes now. The thing is it appears he is learning new skills week in and week out. I have noticed for about the last month that he is getting good at looking off where he intends to throw. Thats a skill some QBs never ever learn, because its very hard to do. Well he threw the pass away, it looks as he is learning this skillset and will continue to sharpen that skill, the next skill will be eluding the defender to run and slide with ball security. With him throwing the pass away it shows that he is learning to feel the pressure, obviously he has felt the pressure all season with his 38 sacks, many of which can be attributed to him and him just taking sacks.

It appears to me he is developing awareness week to week. The stats will eventually come for this kid, he is learning to become a pocket passer and to feel pressure, once everything becomes to slow down for this kid he is going to tear it up.
 
atleast he didnt want Jamarcus, Brady or Trent. I mean John Beck was such a wimp, but then again that was a historically bad team, and for some reason we traded in-season our best WR we've had the past 15 years and gave him Booker and Ginn to throw too with Turnstyle St Clair to protect him, along with the buffoon in Scam Cameron.

Our attempts at QB's in the 2nd round have been epicly terrible, I sure hope our future personnel men never ever pick a QB in the 2nd round ever again! Go strong in round 1 and look for developmentals later on.
 
I like how they said that Tannehill's play has been questionable when the Redskins have a worse record and Tannehill and RGIII have very comparable stats....

Tannehill has been praised for his pocket awareness by knowledgable analysts since college. He didn't forget how to do that this year, there have been too many times when there was no place to go. Recognizing a free blitzer is completely different than anticipating which of your linemen will whiff on a block against a 4 man rush.
 
That relationship is quickly going bad.

RG3 has dumped on Shanahan seemingly every single chance he's gotten ever since he was signed, after Shanahan did everything he could to get him signed and to build him up.

I never liked rg3. I think Tannehill will have the better pro career.

Shanahan may just be getting fed up with rg-ME. Seriously how many times can that guy blame the head coach for everything.
 
Tannehill has thrown plenty of footballs away. In fact, he's right at about the league average on throwaways, if you want to bring statistics into it (I honestly don't).

I don't know where people come up with this crap. Apparently he's supposed to just intentionally ground the ball up the ****ing wazoo. Better than taking a sack even though it's the same result and begins forming a bad habit, right?

I can't say no enough to Kubiak. That team should be in the playoffs year in and out....now he will come here and save our offense? How? He conitnues to disappoint with all the talent they have there, now he's going to take a job here and work with Tanny? No thanks.
 
BS, not in the face of probable sack. Usually he tucks and takes the sack, he needed to learn to throw the ball away, hes had opportuniyies all season to throw it away in the face of pressure and hasnt. Its progress to see him not take the sack.
