Report: Shanahan Wanted Tannehill, Not RGIII

I know everyone misses Omar so I thought I'd post this gem.

Omar who had a man crush on both players last year now all of a sudden saw the demise of RG III and Colin Kap in his crystal ball.

"@EricSloss1383: Does it give u any pause then that players like Colin K and RGIII have regressed this yr?"» gimmick offenses. Saw it coming

I can't say no enough to Kubiak. That team should be in the playoffs year in and out....now he will come here and save our offense? How? He conitnues to disappoint with all the talent they have there, now he's going to take a job here and work with Tanny? No thanks.

His qb is Schaub!! He blows, he runs an offense that would be well suited to RT

Schaub has had some decent years. The fact remains....no one from DEN has won squat since John Elway and TD were playing.

Wasn't he absolutely raving about Colin Kaepernick and crowing about how much he loved him?

Yeah.

Shanahan is a terrible coach. He has a rep for developing QB's that is undeserved. Please someone name a QB that he "developed" Elway was finished product when he got to Denver. Shanahan has not sniffed a SB since.

agreed. WIthout Elway and Davis he is pretty avg at best.

I'm not really shocked at this either because I think Tannehill has more upside in the long run. RG3 is overrated as hell

Draft RG3
Sign Ronnie Brown
Bring back Wildcat
Throw it to RG3 for 3 yd gains

I think him drafting Kirk Cousins in the same draft pretty much proves it.

This is not possible. Tannehill is the worst QB in the Hiztory of futbol. Nobody could ever want him, except for this franchize, which some of us are apparently forsed to ruut for.

Let me be clear "worst QB in the history of football" surely belongs to a Ryan not called Tannehill but Leaf. that said Ryan Tannehill needs time and patience. Can't trash him just because you love Luck, Manning or Brady.

Think that poster was being sarcastic.

Not sure how to take it or exactly what it means but interesting none the less.

This is a very dumb article. It gets out of context some comments from a furious NFL HC.

Mike Shanahan was expressing his frustration on RG3's knee by saying he's somehow remorseful about Redskins mortgaged future for his current starting QB.
It's clear that he wanted to stay at the 6th spot of 2012 draft, keeping a bunch of draft picks including 1st round picks of 2013 and 2014 drafts.

Obviously he was't sure about Ryan Tannehill's quality at QB, but he was ready to give him a fair chance after he probed fine guiding a WCO in college.

But as RG3 was the popular option, Redskins FO simply ignored Shanahan and paid a king's fortune for him.
