Reshad Jones suspended 4 games.

Pete Carroll should have been fired in 2012 in your estimation? His coaching record with Seahawks at that point was even worse than Philbins is now. I know plenty of Seahawk fans wanted him fired, were they right at the time or just regular fruitloop dinguses that had no idea what they were talking about?
Are you trying to make a point or just stringing words together hoping something sticks? I'm happy to debate this point, but you have to present a better argument than putting words in my mouth and backhand attempts to call me a "fruitloop dingus." If you're talking pro wins and losses, Philbin has like what one more win than Carroll had his 1st two years? Not to mention, Carroll made the playoffs his first year. Not to mention, the extraordinary reputation for success he had built on the college level. He's a far more dynamic figure. The direction and overhaul the Seahawks took was far more promising and decisive. He didn't have any bullygate debacles. I've always liked Carroll and thought he got a bum wrap his first nfl stops. The Seahawks achievements haven't surprised me. You could see any number of positive signs on that team that were beneath the surface of the understandably underwhelming win-loss growing pains a team with a new HC will always go through. In the case of Philbin, he has no real success on any level, in any form. These two years have been rife with ominous, red flags as to what kind of coach he is (bullygate, late season collapse, suspensions). He's getting this 3rd year regardless. I hope he's as successful as Carroll was in his 3rd year, but it would surprise me.

Joe Philbin had one of the biggest growing pains any head coach should have to endure: Jeff Ireland. And he still outperformed Pete Carroll even with all of the talent the Seahawks had.

And I predicted Carroll would have tremendous success too-- because Russell Wilson is a ****ing beast.

Yea I feel pretty good we can replace this guy without a drop off in production. I thought he played bad last year.

But regarding the PEDs, its not on the training staff. Its on the players. The players need to know what they are putting in their bodies, and what is banned. All they need to be able to do is read.

It is the coaches responsibility to inform the players (since most of them seem to dumb as rocks and probably cannot read) that they must bring the supplement to the coaching staff before use.
The fact that 2 players have been caught is not only alarming, but another embarrassment for Philbin.
Jones is one of our better players and he was being counted on this year. His loss will cost us a game no doubt. Jordan has done nothing, his loss will not be noticed IMHO.

So Jones is either too dumb to read labels or the coaches were too lax in trusting the dumb players to read labels. There is no third option there like maybe Jones just knowingly cheated on purpose? And if that's the case are there any reasonable measures the coaching staff could have taken to avert that? And if there are what are they? Threaten to suspend him? Cut him?

And considering the Super Bowl teams had multiple players accused of taking peds maybe it is in our interest to turn a blind eye to the whole thing? I haven't looked it up but I'm sure half the teams in the league have had players suspended for ped use, so a player being suspended for ped use in this day and age is as much a "red flag" on the coaching staff as whether he wears a windbreaker or a hoodie to games.

Absolutely he is.

It's true that Ireland was a big burden to cope with. I just don't see Philbin bringing anything to table. It's a reach to say one less win though with a playoff appearance by Carroll is being outperformed by Philbin particularly since the Seahawks talent was incredibly inexperienced as it's been gathered during his tenure. That team experienced a much more thorough rebuild. I'm fine blaming Ireland for the talent deficiencies and the questionable characters he brought in, but Philbin hasn't exactly distinguished himself by keeping those scrubs in line.

I just want 1 season decent season with 1 playoff win. Is that really to much to ask for?

I put this squarelyin. This is twice already. It shows he cannot control his players. It shows he cannot get them to do things right. This shows he has no clue as to what's happening with his players. Other than Joe, who else is responsible for the players and what they ingest into their boys? Is it the trainers? I'd like to know.

U cant blame the coaches for players having no ethics and cheating. These guys are just roiding it up and will try to feed the fans that it was an honest mistake.
I don't buy it at all. Jordan becomes more a bust every day and Jones just very disappointed in a player that at one time I thought was a good player

Philbin's got no sack.. can't lockdown the lockerroom.. don't know how to brain slap a fool and get him straight.. 2 down, more stupid to follow..

lol its funny when people think a few who gotten caught represent the small percentage of players using band substances. Every player has or using band substances, even your favorite players. Its not cheating.... The biggest concerns are players abusing them and hurting themselves. Some of these substances speed up your heart rate if used irresponsibly and can cause your body to over heat and have a stroke or heart attack. That is the biggest concerns.

I agree its probably already a widespread problem and has become a dangerous arms race that has probably already extended into high school. This will likely be the class action lawsuit for the NFL in 20 years or so.

Jordan had very little to lose in the grand scheme of things, a 4 game suspension is nothing relative to what he has to gain. For a player like that only the threat of being expelled from the league and losing everything would be enough to dissuade him.
