Respect, we talk about it every year...

All NFL Network kept doing was talking about the game like NE just lost bc they played so bad. It wasn't bc we played good or anything. It was absurd. However, if it lasts more than one game and we consistently put up numbers it will change.

Who cares?

Do you respect your team? That's all that matters.

Just because it doesnt matter to you, doesnt mean it doesnt matter to everyone. Those of us who listen/read sports 24/7 would like to hear/read some dolphins **** every now and then.

It's a bigger deal that New England lost than it is that Miami won.

Given who they are, of course. Is it that surprising?

I think we should change the thread title to "Dolphin fan wants respect every year after an isolated victory." We'll get enough attention and respect when we do what we did Sunday consistently. Guys were asking for respect last year when we started 3-0 and then what happened? We went 5-8 down the stretch.

It doesn't come after one game man. Honestly though, some of you guys only see what you want to. There are various links and comments around the net from sports writers giving them cred.

Whining about ESPN won't get one anywhere. They're sole purpose is to drive ratings and viewership. The Dolphins don't do that for them ...... right now.

Even Greg Rosenthal (A admitted pats fan) was giving Miami props in his article and the Around the NFL Podcast...in both he said the Dolphins won the game (and not the other ways around a some are eluding to)....I'm not sure how much news and props you want, but with the Rice story dropping today I think the amount is appropriate.

Rodney Harrison gave us props last night as one of his week 1 surprises.

So did Mile Golic this morning. Greeny said the Pats loss was a negative surprise and Golic backed that up saying Miami was a positive surprise saying that after all we went through last year, we dominated the Pats.

Agreed. And I didnt bold it, but yea wont be constant until the Phins are consistent.

This thread again???????

Who the **** cares.

What is with a certain portion of Finheaven? Always feeling like victims.

Not sure if any of these guys remember...

but it was AFTER we beat the Pats last year and got all that positive press that the Fins tanked their last two games.

Don't eat the cheese. :d-day:

Winning consistently is the only way the media will give you respect. Why do fans always feel disrespected all the time? Miami has been poor to mediocre for a decade. One win isn't going to net us much respect. Win consistently and people will take notice. It's not rocket science.

HELL YES I DO.

What I hated more than anything was all the, "what's wrong with New England" talk last night rather than the "Miami just totally b-slapped New England". The latter is the truth and instead most focused on the New England aspect of the story.

dude your sig pic has a typo :(

Michael Smith today on NNL gave the Dolphins love. Said we were legit, but he wasn't sure about the Bills and Jets. Then said that this loss was more about the Dolphins than the Patriots....

Went back and watched NFL Countdown from yesterday. Early in the show they had a piece on Brady and then talked about him and Gronk. They went live to Miami and talked with the girl there about New England. That was all mentioned in the show. Really nothing about Miami mentioned the rest of the 3 hours.

Fox, nothing.

Later on NBC Sunday Night Countdown: Showed Patriot highlights and then Knowshon's TD. Nothing really mentioned other than some Patriot sound bites after the loss. No sound bites from the winners.

ESPN (didn't see the late sports center) Early Sportscenter: Showed Patriot highlights, a Wake sack and Knowshon's TD. Played a clip of Tannehill talking and then the talking heads talked more about Patriots loss. Making note that they haven't lost an opener since 2003.

NFL Network: Showed mainly Patriot highlights and then at 20-13 they started showing Dolphins highlights. Main talk was about the Patriots but Deion did mention "Not to take anything away from Miami....but.".

Haven't heard anything from Berman yet (but he never gives Miami their just due). :chuckle:

I am sure that will change this week, right? :lol2:
Let the cheatriots keep their version of "respect". We'll take the win. Deal.

Did you happen to see the ESPN Expert Picks for this game?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks

and this is the only NFL.com one I could find:

New England will be up 34-17 in the fourth quarter when the Dolphins' passing attack gets going. Sure, it won't be enough, but at some point, we need to see some urgency from Ryan Tannehill, Mike Wallace and Co. Of course, that will be much easier for the Fins to accomplish if someone emerges in their running game.

The 34 points for the Pats stems from the expectation that Tom Brady comes out fast and Rob Gronkowski is on the field in Miami. But we will see. It'll also be interesting to learn how much Bill Belichick trusts Stevan Ridley, or if Shane Vereen ends up being the man. Alternately, Belichick could turn some previously unknown half-assed mountain boys into fantasy heroes. #NEvsMIA

These dummies would look dumb giving Miami props after they all pick against them. As a fan I don't need to hear them be positive when they're so negative to begin with.

Would have been nice to hear the commentators acknowledge that the Pats were a bunch of filthy, cheating, dirty scumbags for the entire game. Cheap shots, holds, helmet hits, hits in the neck, PI all over the place.... If Belichick thinks they were somehow victims, that's all you need to know about how endemic the cheating mentality is in the Patriots.
