Revis tells Vontae "Check game tape..."

I don't care what Revis has to say.

Dude, are you serious? I love my Dolphins . . . but we're talking about V. Davis saying that he and Smith are the best CB tandem when neither has sniffed a Pro Bowl, playoff birth . . . or really anything of any significance. We're good at CB. Don't get me wrong. But Revis is THE BEST IN THE GAME and has been a major part of two teams that have made in to the conference finals, and you're calling him out for talking BS and doing nothing?

But i dont think we are talking really about vonta vs revis. what we are talking about is the tandem. Should Smith break out and play physical, you can chalk it up. these guys will be making plays and against good teams....like the jets.

I think everyone should ease up off Vontae's nut sack.....If he says they are the best then maybe they will be this year. If nothing else they are confident as hell and ready to shut people down. Do you think Jets fans laughed at Ryan for saying they were gonna win the superbowl? Hell No. They didn't win it but were clearly very close twice. I think Vontae and Sean can do it. They could very easily become elite and the best tandem in my opinion

Well some athletes perform under pressure, so if that type of player goes out and says something like this, it could pay dividends as he just put more pressure on himself and Smith to PERFORM. Are they that type of athlete? Guess we'll see shortly...

revis is universally considered the best corner in football. so when davis opens his mouth and talks smack, revis has every right to respond and put him in his place.

Edit: on a side note, when did the dolphins become the jest with all the smack talk from players and coaches?

if you mean universally that jamie dukes laughing his *** off at vontae's statement. I will live with it. jamie dukes is an idiot talking head who just says what others say and when he doesnt, he is off base. you see, the media just likes to look good saying something real. well, if they ever really truly watched any tape or gave a damn about the dolphins, then he would realize that he is not far off and laughing at him.

I love Vontae's mentality. He just has to prove his words. The Jets duo is good not great because Cromartie isn't all that great. He is an athletic freak and has some really great outings, but he's inconsistent and does allow 100 yd receivers on his side pretty often. Revis is a different story; he's a beast.

A good bit of smack talk b/w the Phins and the Jests always gets me pumped for the season!

I have no problem with a CB being more confident than his skills merit. It comes with the territory. It's a plus.

But don't be retarded and accuse Revis of being the ****-talker here. Vontae is the one that opened this can of worms - not that I have any problem with it. If I were Revis, I'd call him on his **** too.

Revis needs to look at the Ted Ginn TD pass over and over. He was clearly burned and that is the fact.
He gets burned now and then, and that will continue. Hopefully we will target him and his illusion of invincibility will be gone.
I expect Gates and Marshall to put up some big numbers against Revis. The Fins receivers need to smack Revis down.
We should send Revis a case of Aloe during the week leading up to the Jets game...
Nothing like adding a little bit of gas to the fire ;)

that fact that the only time people can remember of him being beat is this, that's testament to how good he is. fact is, the safety was supposed to pick him up and didn't...

he was one of the worst tackling CB's in the league last year with 19 missed tackles. For my money, Winfield is the best tackling CB.

thanks for pointing out that Samuels and Ashoumuagh are worse. Besides, the article then goes on to say that teams are willing to accept these if they make up for it in other areas. Well, one could say vontae had an off year in this dept. Regardless, teams stayed away from throwing at davis' side and went after Smith.

One account for this is new defense under Nolan who had vontae just play straight up vs. year before where vontae was more an attacking CB on run plays. Nolan may want his front seven taking care of that more. So henceforth, davis is left to tackle in open field more.

But playing the run, davis has the best tackling technique. In last weeks game, Cam Newton took off running and found a nice hit put on him by one vontae davis. one that prob caused his coaches to tell him to slide instead of getting your head concussed.
