Rich Gannon: "I'm starting to lose a little confidence in Joe Philbin"

So where does the 925k to sign OC come from? I thought we barely had enough room under the cap to sign our draft picks. Will we have to cut someone else or restructure deals now in order to be able to sign our remaining picks?

I'm with LikeUntoGod on this one. Philbin told us the problem. The receivers on the roster can't catch as well as they need to for this offense to function. I'm guessing we are going to be moving some bodies through camp until we find 5 or 6 that can catch plus TE's and RB's. I think we are going to scouring the waiver wire.

The good thing is, we can release Chad before the season starts and we do not have to pay the $925,000. I think we will be paying Chad on a weekly or monthly basis until the season starts.

I think we hired Chad in part to change the chemistry of our WRs in camp. To help jump start them not dropping footballs. Might sound crazy but I've seen coaches do nutty things to "change" something in practice. And this could work if Chad comes into practices and starts catching every single pass.

IMO this a good low risk high rewards signing, it make sense, who cares about gannon and schein, Gannon would have loved to have ocho-cinco.

Was not a fan of this signing although I'm coming around considering the potential (big condition) upside vs the relative lack of risk.

However, being fair about it, I just heard the greatest receiver of all time, Jerry Rice opine that he thinks that at 34, Chad's got more left in his tank, had little wear and tear last season and believes he can catch 80 passes this season. Now Gannon was a pretty good QB, especially during his 2nd curtain call, but I doubt his opinion trumps the perspective of the GOAT WR. :idk:

What's funny is neither one of them have an original thought, they just feed off each other.

Hey Gannon......I got something to tell you....Lean in...Closer....closer.....closer....

TONY SIRAGUSA!

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Someone seriously cares what Rich Gannon thinks about the dolphins? LOL

Or anything.

Rich Gannon licks Schein's balls every morning for a living. What do you expect from a washed up Raida...

We are clowns for doing exactly what the Patriots tried to do (take an undiciplined route running WR and force him into a scheme) and expect different results. We should have learned from what the Patriots attempted to do with him. The Patriots werent viewed as clowns for getting Ochocino because his inability to adapt was not known at the time. It is known now, so yes, we are the clowns.

I wasn't aware that he made the FINAL roster. It appears that you suffer from premature evaluation. So no, the Phins are not clowns. The Pats are the team that had him on their active roster.

Yeah, Rich Gannon can go gloat about that power house in Oakland one day and then talk bad about Philbin the next. What ever bro?

The Patriots are geniuses yet only had Ochocinco for one season, spent two draft picks and will have around $10 million tied to him over the course of three years. Miami gets him cheap with no compensation yet are viewed as clowns.

Plus, we will know the Pats ' system a little better, not that Chad mastered it. This is Joe letting Belicheck know that Miami can play at his game. Chad can mentor young receivers of which we have plenty.
