Why is it just "ridiculous"???
Who knows what Ray Rice's misogynistic history is. All I know is that he knocked out his fiance in a public casino under the glare of a camera. That's irrefutable. IMO, if he can wreak violence betraying the trust of a woman as close to him as his engaged, showing no governor to temper his rage, really does he need to do it more than once to be harshly dealt with? How many times did Richie allegedly violate that volunteer with the golf club? What's ridiculous is rushing to judgment on Incognito but on here, despite video evidence, giving Rice the benefit of the doubt. What's to play out? How much provocation justifies knocking his girlfriend unconscious? It's like saying Rae Caruth only conspired to kill one fiance, so let's not jump to conclusions and censor him if the league doesn't.
And when more than 2 out of every 3 players you encounter on the field are non-Caucasians, attacking two white guys might be an anomaly, three: an unfortunate coincidence, but 6 out of 6 is a trend. So come on now, you have less traction trying to argue from afar that Suh is not a racist (and yes, he is an asshole like Richie AND Jona), than anyone ever did when jumping to conclusions that Incognito was/is one - cuz actions speak louder than words. And what's worse, Richie being voted onto the Fins leadership council or Suh being chosen onto the Lions leadership council? Or that one doesn't count? But no one has the balls to bring up this possibility in the media, yet they were lynching Incog on the basis of those selectively inflammatory racist texts Martin's handlers purposely extracted out of the more than 1000. :idk:
Just saw Drew Brees on Sports Nation who was asked about having Incognito as a teammate. After the usual qualifiers like "I only know what I read as I don't know Martin or Incog" , Drew, a bright and thoughtful guy was all for bringing him in if he can protect the QB and have his back. So the armchair fans are certainly entitled to their opinions, but as others on here have speculated (and it is all speculation), IMO a large majority of players right now would accept Incog before Martin as a teammate.
