Ricky stood up and faced the fire!

Exactly! Only in today's liberal society can you respect a guy for quitting because he wanted to smoke dope.

Liberal society? Where do you live? Holland?

That's not the only reason he quit. He was being pounded to death and Dumbstedt said the reason they lost is because they didn't use him enough. Come on, when you get pounded into the line as many times as he did without a game plan it wears on you.

I don't agree with the quitting because part of it was to smoke dope and it was quitting at the wrong time for selfish reasons but too many people just say he just wanted to smoke.

That dude has got serious emotional and social problems and I'm glad he got them out of his head and is ready for a new start. This new regime is just what he needed.

Do you really think the guy cared so much about the money when he's learning holistic medicine. His filing for bankruptcy and the NFL's retirement would buy him enough dope to make due.

And, Oh Yeah, you should get out and travel.

I have a deep respect for this guy. I am a diehard Dolphin fan all my life. Living in the DC area I can remember days when the main TV in our home was designated to my brothers watching the Redskins. I took the small black and white to my bedroom and used a coat hanger and my arm to create an antanae functional enough to glimps the Baltimore channel so I could watch the Bert Jones Colts against the Bob Griese Dolphins. Those were the days. I say all of this to highlight my dedication to the team. I really did not despair for too long over Ricky's departure. I kinda got it that Huizenga was killing us for another year when he was keeping Dumbstadt around so the impact of his loss was tempered by this reality.

I posted a Ricky thread some months ago saying that there were 8.5 million reasons why he would return. In the post I compared Ricky's character to McMichael's. I stated that if Saban can tolerate a guy arrested for an altercation with his pregnant wife that would make Ricky was shoe-in. The comparison from a character stand point is a no-brainer.

After today's press conference I am convinced beyond a doubt that Ricky is a truly good person. His ability to apologize for hurting others, his mature and descent handling of questions about his involvement with drugs, his response to questions that could be shaming and disparaging were beyond reproach.

Great job Ricky.

I made one more post about Ricky after he declared he would return. It stated that Ricky will tear the NFL up this year. A man on a mission. Check it out Dolphin fans. Put on your seatbelts and go for the ride of your life, because Ricky is be AWESOME. He will play with a conviction that prior to now he has NEVER felt.

The other posts I have made have been about the cynics on this board - those who keep going on and on about how we will be 8 and 8. You will be on the learning curve - this is no 8 and 8 team baby.

Thank you Ricky and thank you NICKY!
what did you expect him to do run away? no he wouldnt do that!!
