Ricky Williams 2002 highlights

Back in those days I worked for a sports wire service called Sports Ticker. I had to work that day, and watched the game there. A lot of the guys I worked with were Jets fans. It was absolutely brutal. I remember it was right around the holidays and my sister was home from college. When I got home that night, I muttered something that was supposed to be a 'hello' to my family, I went in my room, shut the door, and didn't say a word to anyone the rest of the night. And the fam left me alone. They knew how pissed off I was. Probably the most heartbreaking end to a season I've ever known as a fan of this franchise. And the Minnesota disaster the week before might've even been a more brutal loss than the New England game, crazy as that sounds.

I was at the new England game. taunted those aholes with our flag waving for 3 quarters as ricky gashed them for like a buck 75. we had endzone seats right in front of where stache decided to throw 3 times from inside our 5 and that was the beginning of the end. worst game ive ever been to and the only game ive ever left early ( wife and I left after mare shanked the kickoff out of bounds). on topic, man ricky was an instinctual runner what vision and power.

Memories are too painful. I can't watch that without thinking of how despite Ricky's phenomenal efforts, we managed to have a disaster of a second half of the season. I don't think any sport season has ever been more disappointing, before Fiedler's injury that team looked SB caliber.

I watch these videos occasionally. Such an absolute monster he was.

One play just run a guy over and fall forward. Next play get around the corner and outrun DBs.

Thanks for running Ricky into the ground Wannstache.

Instant contender. Legit contender.

what big time RB doesn't want the ball? that was an awful excuse by Ricky, he quit for other reasons.

Besides Marino's 1984 season that might be the best season ever for a Miami Dolphin player. He didn't have a great line blocking for him either.

While I don't doubt his mental issues played a part, I still believe he quit because he didn't want people knowing he smoked weed. This was around the time where we were still very ignorant to drugs and you also didn't see that many big name stars getting suspended. IIRC some other "fairly" known guys got suspended that same year for four games" or the year after, and that's when Ricky decided he wanted to come back.
