Ricky Williams and my argument with a Bills fan!!

If Ricky has a good year, do you think Nick Saban will trade him next season for a 2?

  • Yes, Nick will trade Ricky after a good season for a 2nd round pick.

See part of the problem is a lot of you are thinking very short term. Do you honestly think RW is going to be playing for a long time???? Heck the guy even said he's only got 2 more years left in him. Wouldn't a 2nd round draft pick with an ENTIRE career in front of him be more valuable to the Dolphins franchise than a guy who may retire again in 2 years, or maybe even less if he decides he needs to "Find himself again" Also take into consideration, one, JUST ONE failed drug test and RW will be out for a very long time whether he wants to play or not

why does it have to be a 2nd round pick? depending on how well ricky does this year, i can see Nick trading him for a mid-to-late first, or early 2nd at the lowest, packaged with other later-round picks.

Ricky will be a proven back who has something special. i also can see Brown being a flop and us trading him and keeping ricky.

but no way in 2006 do we keep both ricky and brown... too financially irresponsible.

Man what GM in their right freakin mind would give up a 1st round pick for RW???? We had a hard time getting a 2nd rounder for Pat Surtain, The Colts, and Seahawks couldn't get a 2nd rounder for Their star RB's. Hell a team would be moronic to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a player as unstable as RW. He's undependable, he still gives off that vibe that he could quit at any time, and he's a failed drug test away from being kicked out of the league anyway

Ronnie's the future, and as fun as it will be to see them in the same backfield, I have to say Ricky goes for a second rounder. A second round pick is just so high,, you could get a starting QB, DT, or DB with that pick! We could certainbly use the depth in other positions.

I can't wait til Ricky plays again!!!! I can't wait til we can trade him for whatever we can get either. We need to come out of this sour deal with something to work with for the future.

Either way, Coach Saban saw way too much value in Ricky to just let him roam the earth while under-contract.

Psst You are on a Dolphin Website you jamook, what do you expect? And Bills fans think Mcgahee is the second coming of Christ, after ONE HEALTHY GOOD YEAR! Ricky has had multiple 1,000 yard years and Mcgahee has alot to do before he is Ricky.

Ricky is one of the best RB in the NFL. Behind no O line and no passing game just 2 years ago!!!!!!!!! He led the LEAGUE!

Yea, this is a Fins website....so I should expect all the fin fans be unrealistic & just a bunch of homers??? Try again.

As for McGahee....when did I mention him being the second coming? I didn't. Quit spin doctoring this into a RB debate and try to stick to the topic at hand.

while i enjoy hearing of dolphins problems, i dont think anyone will offer a 2nd rounder for ricky. and IF someone did, saban would take it. because:
1) ricky is 1 positive test away from a 1 year suspention.
2) ricky has, and might again retire unexpectedly.
3) a 2nd rounder is VERY HIGH, compared to his trade value.
4) after a "very good season" he may want more money. if he owes the team 8 mil, that doesnt mean he has to play for the fins. he may want to go get PAID, so he can eventually pay that off, and retire in 3 or 4 years.

I second that...Think Mularky is looking for a stud RB ?? LOL

But you are absolutely right...there is no way anyone offers a second for him, when SA and EJ could only garner 3rd round offers...

Of course he would trade him for a 2nd. However I do not think that will happen. Saban would be lucky to get anything higher than a 7th for a HB that is half insane, OK maybe he's fully insane, and is 1 failed drug test away from a 1 year suspension.

Wicky has no value and even if he has a GREAT season that won't change, because of his past behavior.

The only way Wicky stays in Miami is if Wicky is willing to stay in Miami and play for peanuts. Outside of that because of his contract the Dolphins will not be able to afford to pay him and Ronnie Brown. That is just how it is ppl. The Dolphins have to follow the rules of the NFL CAP.
