Ricky Williams interview

the more and more I read the interview the more and more I am impressed with Ricky. Most players would have stuggled with that type of questioning.

Could you imagine Randy Moss in that exact situation. His head might have exploded....or maybe he's just flame up right there in front of everyone becuase he wasn't able to understand that Wallace was overtly trying to "bait" him. :)

My Many Emmy Wallace let his ego get the better of him...and it showed.

Even with Ricky saying that "I enjoyed our time together" Wallace STILL had to bring up the actual NAMES of world leaders who gave him an one-on-one and still wined "but you're not going to give me one?"....what a child...

......then he tries to drag Ricky out into the dep water with the question about IRAQ. Wallace knew from the 1st interview that Ricky didn't follow the war (it was in the 1st interview) yet he brought it up again towards the end of his "uninterupeted questioning period" to simply try to get Ricky to embarrass himself....just as Wallace was embarrassed by not planning this whole thing and just showing up to interview Ricky yet not getting his way....instead Ricky handled it very well.

Those reporters who were not or are not able to take a step back from their "awe" of Wallace won't recognize what was going on in that interview...those who can look at it objectively...hopefully they will write up some articles today.

I totally agree with you, Ricky is far from stupid as other posters have said, he is very honest and blunt, which is rare. he speaks the way he feels at that moment and doesn't make it media friendly or bs just to please the public.

I am writing this a general reply to all the negative threads against Ricky. Ricky is actually quite intelligent and probably much more intelligent than most people. He is also very fulfilled and spiritual. As I have stated before, the closed minded, materialistic western mind/philosophy has a very difficult time grasping the eastern point of view. If you read about Hinuism, Taoism, Buddhism, Kabbalism, they are all very spiritual philosophies and ways of life(not really religion). They focus on the now, the present. They focus on inner peace and inner happiness. In order to achieve enlightenment one must be at peace with one's self. Materialistic gains will bring sadness and suffering, future hopes can lead to the same and distract us from what we are doing now. At any moment something could happen and we are gone; life needs to be lived and enjoyed.

I can give more particular examples but my guess is most people aren't interested. It's much easier to say "Man what a flake" and leave it at that.

But I will again say, Ricky Williams and Nick Saban have a lot in common and he will be a dolphin for the remainder of his career.

And Wallace is a moron. He is only interested in ratings and ripping people apart. I want someone to interview him and see what happens. If Wallace was a real man he would air this in a very positive light for Ricky.

I don't care what anyone says, but he can't be to smart to begin with if he gives up millions of dollars for one year of smoking pot in India or wherever he was. Just my opinion.

if you had the money to take off work for one year, would you do it? I am not going to ask if you would smoke weed, I can tell by your post.

He still sounds like an idiot when he talks to media. Saying he still isn't happy playing and all. Things like this is what makes me not like him as a dolphins player. Because i have always loved guys like Parmalee and Jim Jensen. Guys who give their all and never complained. they just worked.

Ricky is still an idiot. This just tells you right there he isn't out for the team he is just out to pay his debt.
well, he's right about this country's people, even this website's people, having various differences. the thing missing from most people is tolerance of anothers person / view. you can go ahead and label RW an idiot by what he says but it doesnt demonstrate an understanding of who he is.

if i was a free-spirited guy like williams living in and playing in a republican florida mentality all around me which is engulfing this country to no end, i would pack it up and head to splitsville, anywhere, world, universe but this would only be a temporary flight from pressure and expectations from a narrow minded people who force their standards on you as if this wasnt a free democracy. individualism is dying quickly. as is art. true art anyway. ricky is struggling to keep a certain mindset. to him it is survival and i wish for him to pursue true freedom which does come from within and not in conformity.

thanks for confirming what i just said. can you do any better?

lets take what you asked.

if i were to say "no, i do not read or listen to his interviews" what would you say?

do you understand and live by that philosophy? its not even a philosophy. but do you live free or do you find yourself conforming daily?

Seems like you get it as well. Tolerance & individuality has been lost and we seem to blindly follow what we are told without thinking or researching for ourselves.

Wow this thread is getting deep.
