ricky williams is the best runningback on our team right now.

The depth chart doesnt mean much right now...wait until RB signs.

I have a feeling that RB will be right down where Ricky is at this point. Make both of them earn it back.

I'll wait to see how Ronnie Does WITH pads on before I make any type of judgement as to who's a better RB, or who should start. Ricky is talented......YES, but Brown has to be talented as well for a team with a lot of needs to pick him at #2 overall(I can't wait to see what R.B. really has to offer once the season starts, but he needs to hurry up and sign........IT'S KILLING ME!!!!!)

i want so bad for ricky to bust out for 100 yards and a TD come this upcoming monday.

hey, i relize that the depth chart has him at 3rd string right now, and thats without ronnie on it, but here the reasons i think hes the best.

1.) All backs have looked good in practice. he seems to stick out more though
2.) all those guys ahead of him, have been working their as$ off
3.) ricky still has the 4 game suspension
4.) Ricky hasnt proven he can still play

that depth chart doesnt mean jack shiit. we will see who our runningback is after preseason.....
How exactly does number 3 help him at all?

I'm not sure why number four is so good for him either. I think it must have been that 'list roll effect' DonShula84 mentioned.

I don't understand, he's the best because he hasn't proven he can play ?? He's the best because he has a susp. to serve ?? I'm not too sure what you are trying to say here, maybe early morning blurs for me or something, but I can tell you why he is NOT the best RB right now...

1) Conditioning...he is NOT in football shape yet. His body took a whole year off (yoga conditioning is not the same as football conditioning). It will need time to readjust to the hitting and pounding he'll take once games start. Right now, in camp, hitting is not really "for real."

2) His weight is still about 15 pounds less than his norm. He can't physically pound up in the middle like he used to be able to. He has to continue to increase his playing weight and muscle structure to where he was before. That will take TIME and effort.

3) How injury prone will he be once the real hitting starts ? That will really be the test of how well his conditioning is coming along. This, to me, is the most concerning thing about his comeback attempt...If he gets injured, a more serious injury, how long will his heart remain into football...my guess is not very long...

4) The burning question is...Is his HEART really into football again ? How long will it be before he decides to chuck it all and go back to the bushland (or even the Everglades)...

Now, IF all of the above items (and I probably missed a few) come to fruition, he will probably be our best RB, afterall when he was at his best with us he was one of the top 5 RBs in the league. But the IFs (particularly the heart issue) will be with him until the real end of his career. Personally, the best thing we did was draft Brown and show him that we aren't totally dependent on his ball skills.

I think Saban is being his usual genius self. Basically avoiding controversy and making people earn their spots. Gordon based upon his talent, limited time last year and practice is close to #1, Morris based on last year was up there as well. Although Ricky is head and shoulders above the rest in talent ability and preseason; he still has to earn it back after being off for 1year. Good public move IMO

can he even play in this game with suspension and that he's kinda thin?

this has been answered 1 million times!!!

I believe Ricky Williams is not only the best RB on the Dolphins. But in the league. I will continue to believe this until shown otherwise. There was never a moment Ricky made himself "not the best". He just took a break. If he does not perform this year than I may feel he isn't. But right now he still is.

Yes, i do have to agree that Ricky is our best RB and he prob will be like he was before he retired. Now if Ronnie doesn't sign soon, then i am afraid that he will be the #2 RB for the season.

Keep Gordan at #1 and run the piss out of him in preseason
for trade value.
