Ricky Williams on Incognito

First, Richie may have been a "great guy" and a "great teammate", but he wasn't to Martin....it doesn't matter what the other player think because this is a case between these two players and their specific interactions.

Bess' point of Martin never coming to the leaders of LAST YEAR's team is telling. Martin is a snake.

He would be on this team if I was GM.

So if you admit Martin is this 'snake' and everything is on him, why do you keep pushing your fire Philbin agenda like it was his fault? Telling...

Just trying to read some of those conversations on Ricky's page, man people are some real jack-***es. You get a chance to discuss anything of your choosing with a controversial character, and all people can do is say "you smoked pot" like high school dropouts. There is a way to approach things like how drugs affected a career, future, and legacy, because there are meaningful questions that could be asked, but not way way these guys are doing this.

I don't speak for anyone else, but I think Hayden believes Joe simply isn't a good coach.

I feel the same way. I would not be upset to see Joe fired, as I think he is doing a poor job as head coach, but I do not feel this whole incident is a reflection on him. I think that based on everything I know -- and Schefter is now confirming Joe was NEVER informed of this stuff -- Joe Philbin is caught in the crossfire and never stood a chance.

But, I think it's fair for fans to still want him fired for his COACHING.

ha ha joes way better than the incompetent crap we've had as head coaches in the recent memory...but so is this qb and he takes nothing but grief from this crowd so i guess it is what it is...

It sounds like most of you never played college or let alone high school football.

Its chaos in the locker room. Players talk crap to other players all the time. Its divided too. For example linemen wouldn't interact with safeties or kickers. Its segregated by skill position and half the time other positions have no idea whats going on until a huge debacle like this.

I will say this, bullying and hazing happen a TON. I think one year I took #84 for football at WR when I was an underclassmen. The rest of the wideouts found me coming out the bathroom, picked me up and shoved me against a vending machine. They asked me if I thought I was Randy Moss taking #84. They then proceeded to take my wallet and pants me. Yeah, I was 6'0 180 but I also had 4 other wide outs who were all 6'0 or higher teaming up on me. What the **** was I supposed to do? Say No and just stand there?

Coaches also have no idea whats going in the locker room most of the time. They can't. Players kick their ass out if they come in there for no reason.

Fire him for going 11-13 so far? Yeah it isn't 20-4 but he doesn't deserve such a fate so quickly IMO.

And this is a great point you bring up. The locker room is definitely segregated by position which means that the players that are speaking out wouldn't know what's really going on outside their peer group.

I think the failures of the offensive coaching staff fall on him. He hired Mike Sherman, Mike Sherman is his friend and mentor. If he can not bring himself to get serious with Mike and address the issues this team has on the offensive side of the ball, he deserves to be fired.

And from what I've heard, the guy who wants to get the team going shotgun and pass happy... is Joe Philbin.

Some Pop Warner coaches are probably more competent than what we have had in recent memory.

Philbin needs to be judged on the success or failure of the team.

I'll give him until the end of this season before I make that determination being they are 4 and 4.
If they can somehow fight through this and end up in contention Joe gets the credit.
If they fall apart Joe gets the blame. It's that simple to me.

I think it comes down to whatever happens to Ireland will be the same for Philbin.

Miami running the ball so often on Thursday was who's idea then?
