Ricky Williams Q&A

thanks for the link, Ricky has a weird answer for every question man. And he sounds like he doesnt really care about anything. Money Money Money.:shakeno:

Read it...and believe me...I am really pulling for Ricky....but guys....hes on a whole different realm than us. Im not saying its bad...its his decision on how he wants to lead his life...but boy is it different. I have to be honest though...he doesnt instill an awful lot of confidence in me. That may be because I dont understand him...but I dont have a real fuzzy right now.

I didnt get anywhere in there where it was about money. I dont agree with his answers either...but..I think hes much deeper than playing about money. I get the feeling that he would trade his athletice talent any day for a high IQ and the ability to teach as a professor or something..but we born with what we have..and Ricky is a spiritualist in a football players body.

I'd say he's coming from a Buddhist perspective which emphasizes non attachment and living in the moment. This tends to sound aloof to the western linear mind.

haha he cant answer anything straight... hes definately an odd mamma jamma...

I get exactly what he is saying and it is rather refreshing and is just the opposite of the opinion you expressed. He is about living in the present moment...living in the Now. He has found a spiritual practice that is helping him live his life instead of hiding from it. Be thankful he found it for it is this new perspective on how to live his life that will help him overcome all his challenges (SAD) instead of becoming dependent on the weed.

He's such a goofball.

If he lasts beyond 2-years I would be shocked.

Ricky is not thinking about money at the moment. Ricky is just a different kind of guy that and he relates to stuff about life and stuff like that. I dont know why, but it's always exciting and interesting to hear him talk. You just got to face the facts that he don't give you the answers that you are looking for.

No he just sounds like he is fooling himself, and he seems more confused than ever to me. Poor guy, I sure hope he finds peace within his skin one day!

None of us do, but his answers I would think would give most ppl the same feeling. His questions are goofy to say the least. He tries to come off as this above it all type of person yet there he is whoring himself to play football for the $. The poor guy seems really confused to me, hence the term goofball used by me.

DING DING! Good answer. He's all about the present. Focus. Concentration. These aren't ramblings so much as they are philosophical/metaphysical principles. These sound alien coming from an athlete -- particularly a football player -- but there could actually be some practical applications.

For instance: Ricky won't get hung up on how much playing time he should have. He won't waste concentration blaming his teammates for a missed block. He won't live in the past kicking himself should he happen to fumble.

Try looking at his statements again in this context, and see how they read.

Those answers are not genuine answers Doc. They are cookie cutter answers. He has been well coached.
