Ricky Williams' Suspension?

jetman67 said:
Are any of you concerned about his not being in game shape, getting into shape then sitting for 4 weeks?

Not really. I assume that since he's taking the initiative to come back, he'll be motivated enough to practice on his own for four weeks, as well as learn the playbook inside out. If he does these things, he'll be an excellent backup.

Suspension only is counted towards actual games. Preseason do not cout as actual games. Thus he'll be able to play and practice. However, not for the first 4 game of the actual season....that is if he's still there.

"that is if he's still there." my thoughts exactly. seriously, i could see him jumping ship again. i honestly don't feel like he really wants to play...the motivation is that he needs $$$. i hope i'm wrong...we'll see.

Go Fins!!!

No, he meant "against us." He's a bronco fan. And yes Gordon will start if Ronnie doesn't and he will tear your defense apart. Denver doesn't have a chance.

"Denver doesn't have a chance."

Yes...that's what I like to read.

GO FINS!!!

if ricky can perform, then he could possibly start over ronnie after the 4 game suspension....this is unlikeley but could happen
does any one know rickys current weight last i heard he was at 215

"Ricky won't pass drug testing long enough to get reinstated..." (collective thoughts)

Reality: Ricky has been participating in a drug rehab program for weeks and has agreed to NFL testing policies which could test him up to 10 times a month.

"Ricky only weighs 185, he will not be at his playing weight in time for camp..."

Reality: Ricky was last reported to be 215lbs. His playing weight was 225 - 235.

"Ricky will not get reinstated before camp begins, it's against the one year policy..."

Reality: Ricky was cleared on Tuesday, July 19. Nearly a week before camp begins.

"His teammates will not accept him back."

Reality: Some key individuals have stated they would accept Ricky back if he truly wants to come back and be a team player.

"Ricky will be 2nd string or not even make the team."

Reality: There has never been talk Ronnie will be the full time starter right now or in the near future. All offensive strategies discussed have involved a split backfield involving Gordon, Williams and Brown.

"Ricky's contract will be too much to pay with our current cap."

Reality: Reports are currently focused on a Ricky playing for vet minimum.

I wonder when all the Ricky haters will finally realize Weed Williams has entered the building?

Like it or not, Ricky is a valuable asset to this team. Like it or not, Ricky will be a Dolphin this year. And, like it or not...

HE'S BACK!

I for one am glad. For all those who seek to support Randy McMichael as an athlete yet remain silent when his personal life is broadcast, they should not judge me for supporting Ricky the Athlete. No matter how you slice it, EVERY player has a personal life. And in that life, they make judgements in efforts to continue their self preservation. I may not like their choices, but I definitely like what they do when they put on the Aqua and Orange. And, for that, I'll cheer every Sunday.

Here's to a NEW YEAR!

Run Ricky Run!

Yeah your right, "Denver doesn't have a chance." (stupid statment)

Last I heard you didn't win any superbowls to be labled as an untouchable team. So tell me why won't Denver have a chance?

Is Ricky allowed to play in week5?

the suspension is for 4 games. does the bye-week count as game or is allowed to come back in week6?

does anybody knows the answer?

Not sure. Does the suspension include not participating in any drills or practices, or is it just game day?

During Ricky's suspension, he is not allowed to even be at the Phins facilities unless its to receive medical treatment. Even then, as soon as he's done with the treatment he must leave IMMEDIATELY.

i never knew ricky was at 185 thats news to me last i heard he was over 215

IM not concerned at all about the conditioning of Ricky. He was working out as a trainer during his asian trip and kept in shape. Over a week ago I heard he was up to 215 and I have to guess he is even heavier now.

He will get more REPS than most during our 5 game preseason, that will be a big help!! IM not worried about it at all!!
