I was wondering if there has been any news about Ricky and the Drug Program. I'm pretty sure that he enrolled in the drug program a few weeks ago, has he been tested yet?? I guess with an issue like this no news is good news, but I was just wondering if anybody knows if he has been tested? If he has I'm sure he passed since we havent heard anything about it.

I'm sure by now he has probably given a voluntary test. He technically doesn't HAVE to start the testing until his one year "retirement" ends. As of now, he still has no official ties to the league, so any test would be voluntary at this point.

My brother's friend's roomate's cousin said they saw Ricky at a mall buying a Dolphins jersey so he could play this year. He said Ricky is doing fine and passing all his tests. :)

I think when you reinstate yourself into the NFL's drug rehab program you are subjected to test manditory. So it is my understanding that he will/is recieving the 4? test weekly.

You may be right. But my thought on it was that if he is not officially in the league and cannot participate in any team activity until approximately July 24th, then he would not be subjected to any mandatory test until that time. It would somewhat be a double standard by the NFL to say to a player: "You can not work out with your team, you can not participate in any football related matters with the team but you do have to give us blood/urine 3 or 4 times a week before your official comeback date." It just doesn't seem right. You may be right. And nothing surprises me about how the NFL works.

Its really to bad that they even have to test for pot. Players can go drink if they want, and pot is no worse for you than drinking.,

I don't smoke pot. (have in the past) But I agree with you. I would go so far to say that drinking is worse. Drinking really screws up your judgement, your reflexes, you're ability to comprehend...it basically screws everything up. Pot makes you laugh and makes you relaxed and probably messes with your reflexes to a point, but not like alcohol does.

definatly... i just dont understand... Alcohol and cigarretts kill millions of people a year... How many people die a year from smokin weed? maybe a couple only because they got so high they passed out mid blunt and burned the house down!

Nasty

I think it's more about having to draw the line somewhere. How can you tell a cocaine-addicted player he can't sniff coke but it's ok to smoke pot?

Niether should be used during athletics. I could smoke 100 joints, wake up, and play some lacrosse. Drinking the night before, i'm gonna be hating life come gametime.

Cause Sniffing coke and running can make your heart explode. Plus coke could be copnsidered a performance enhancer.

Pot shouldn't even be illegal if drinking and cigerettes aren't. Then it wouldn't be an issue.
