Ricky's new comments irk me

I think that's been one of Ricky's issues with football anyway. He has always tried to stay out of the spotlight. I took his comments to mean that he just wants to blend in with the team as opposed to being the star. He can be criticized for a lot of things, but I think this may be an empty criticism of him. He doesn't desire to be the star of the team, and he never really has desired to be the star of the team.

Ditto.

That's the way Ricky is and always has been. He has God given ability. Once the pads come on and the whistles blow, we all see another side of Ricky. Ricky the football player. Ricky the person is an enigma to me, but one I am beginning to understand more and more. I just had a friend who quit a 6 figure job to go and volunteer in Costa Rica for 2 years. He wasn't happy with his career. Go figure. Ricky did what he did to find peace, freedom and inner-happiness. He just wants to be a part of the program and I think he is as motivated as ever to take this team as far as we can go. He does not want to make any ripples in the pond on a team who just spent the No. 2 pick on a RB. I think after Ricky's soul searching odyssey, he comes back as a better player, teammate and father.

BTW...

Whatever we get from Ricky this year is a BONUS a big fat ****ing BONUS..no one on this board expected him to be in a Dolphin uniform..

So please, like JJ said, what does he have to do or say to make you naysayers happy?

(BTW..My personal opinion on the naysayers is that you aren't true fans. He's back now and a part of the team. Quit ripping him based on the past. He fumbles twice in week one in a loss to the Broncos, rip all you want. But for now, lay off Ricky).

He is being humble. He don't expect to be back the way he was because he is going to be even better. Ricky is one with himself now. When have Ricky ever lied? When he quit he told the truth the entire time. He said he was smoking weed, he told about the NFL drug policy. He mention how he thought Foerster and Mc Kinney were Bums. He completely called out Bumstedt by pretty much saying he was bum. Remember when Ricky wanted to see what coach had to say before he quit, and he said Wanny completely missed what he was trying to get across to him.."Ricky was like the nerve of that Idiot" So with he's responses to the questions he is not lying and he's very truthfull about hes new outlook and perspective on HE's life..

He's not saying he won't get back to the form he was in, he's just saying he's not there yet AT THIS TIME. He's being humble and wants to move forward.

Yeah people keep hating on Ricky the person. Please learn to seperate the two as they are, in this case, VASTLY different. No Ricky hater on this board has any problems with Ricky the player. That's all he wants to be now. For all I care he could sleep in pink underwear and have sex with Vitnamese midgets everyday while dressed in drag!! Who cares!! Show up on Sunday and give me your best!!!

Ricky marches to a different drummer. We will never undersatand him nor should we try to.

Ricky recently sayed that he does not believe in goals.Saban sort of ignored the statement. He definately IS goal oriented.

Thats what we should do.Ignore his weirdo personality and see what he produces on the field.

Having said that I believe that guys like Ricky are like ticking time bombs.Sooner or later something will trigger them off.He may quit again.

Very true. WYSIWYG.

I actually think I get a good bit of what Ricky has going on. He's an introvert. It gallops through my mom's side of the family. I also don't see any harm in trying to get in Ricky's head -- I'd just suggest that people not do it if it will just end up frustrating them. He's not the typical football player, and that actually means both positive and negative things.

 Lets move on already let him play, let Saban keep him at a distance for now! If that fails then we'll get Tom Cruise to work on him!

...........most of you know that I completely disagree with having him on the Phins..........and perhaps I'm knit-picking a tad here, but Ricky's latest comments irk me.

I think it's great the man doesn't want to look back. That's fine, who legitimately wants to constantly be stuck in the rut of the past. Yet some of us have been questioning the man's heart and desire since he decided he wanted back. He's not really commented up to this point what he is set out to do now that he's back other than really general statements that most football players make........until now. The whole "I don't expect to get back to where I was a few years ago," just doesn't sound kosher to me.

A guy with passion to play again, would openly come out and say he wants to come back and dominate. Ricky's comments, to me, translate into "Ya I'm back, I don't want to be bugged about the past, just let me play no matter the result." Doesn't sound like lofty goals to me.

Anybody else get that impression?
Get over it. He is here for a year...2 max and will ride off into the smoke cloud again. As long as he runs hard, who cares

Get over it? Maybe you should get over my opinion first.

None of this matters. He is not going to play the 1st 4 games of this season and he will be traded or simply released by next off-season. He is not in this teams long term plans.

Wanny made that mistake and it cost him his job and reputation.

A lot of people never wanted Ricky back in a Dolphins uniform. A lot of people no longer respect JJ's opinions either. Both of these fools turned their backs on the Dolphins logo, and that is just hard to swallow. Don't you get that? It's not like these people are calling for their deaths.

It's good that Ricky appologized to everyone involved though. For this I might just be able to cheer him. But from this TRUE FAN (thats what I know for a fact I am), I'm going to rip him anytime I see fit.

Sorry......

I actually took it positively. The problem Ricky had mentally was he had childish views regarding how life should be. I'm not happy, the game isnt fun anymore, blah blah blah. I took from that interview that he finally got rid of viewing the game in some idealistic way and is going to approach the game like a job and take it for what it is. But since its Ricky we are talking about who the f@*k knows for sure

Darn, that's harsh.

The first part was harsh, but this part is just plain untrue. I'm a die hard Dolphins fan.
