Ricky's not gonna be good

Mark my words: Ricky Williams will NEVER be the same back that he was before he quit.

He's damaged goods. Assuming he doesn't quit again, he won't be with the Dolphins any longer than it takes for Brown to adjust to the NFL - as soon as he (Brown) does, it's trade time for Ricky.

Let's see........Pay 8.6 million dollars, or play football ? ( A sport that you have to enjoy to become any good at. )

What would you choose ?

Who cares what his motivation is ? I'm certain he'll give 100% out there on the field, and in practice. That's never been a question with him.

Oh, and for the record, I think this year off has been enlightening for Ricky, and reguardless of what he does as a player, it made him a better person off the field.

If you remember Ricky's first preseason game with the Dolphins about 3 years ago, he went 5 carries for 5 yards....then that same year won the rushing title. It's preseason, nobody cares, no one wants to get hurt, he was just getting his feet wet etc. etc. The sky is not falling after one of FIVE fricken preseason games.

if you saw his interview last night then you should of noticed that he is not too interested in playing football and he didn't deny the fact that he came back because of the money he owes. He is not interested in gaining the starting RB job and if you paid attention to him when he played he didn't try hard. Ricky looks like a possible cut to me

He will be a possible cut and i just wish the guy would get his head out of his *** long enough to relize that there are a lot of people who enjoy watching him play and that its not all just about him. oh well lets hope he trys alittle more, but what i dont understand is that during tc all reports said he was trying hard and doing great??

man, now I just lost 3 minutes of my life for this insane thread :nono:

I'm over the Ricky thing, seriously. Let's make one thing clear. I don't really want him on our team, but if he called me up today and said he wanted to smoke a blunt and play some Madden 06 with me..I'd be there. Seems like a very fun/cool guy off the field but if anyone thinks he didn't come back for the money is a ******.

He's basically playing to pay off debt. Guess you can't blame him. Plus..I'm sure he honestly doesn't care if people like to watch him play. I wouldn't do something I truely don't enjoy just because people like to watch me do it.

People call that work. They do it to get a check. You are no different then Ricky in that aspect.

Ok then, let's cut him. Since he won't be good, tell him to pack it up and go somewhere else where "5 runs for 8 yards" isn't enough to get you cut

yeah, i remember how much he tore it up in his first preseason game with the phins. he just goes off in the preseason. that's the sign of a great back. go back and look at the numbers from ricky's first two preseasons in miami, and then maybe take a step back from the ledge.

he has no trade value

come on now, you truthfully cannot tell me that Ricky sounded excited to play football

Have you ever seen him excited in an interview?

When he first entered the league he wore a helmet during interviews. It is Ricky we are talking about. You will not get anything out of him in an interview.

I can truthfully tell you he didn't sound excited to be interviewed. Of course, if we're going to base our opinions of players' football worth by their interviews, we'd better re-evaluate everyone.

For one thing, you'd probably crown Feeley the starter right now. He always sounds energetic and committed.

"Ricky will suck". "Feeley will suck". "Our secondary will suck". "Our O-line will suck". Boy, the silliness truly begins after the first preseason game. Everybody knows everything after a game THAT MEANS ABSULOTELY NOTHING.

Last week the same people were talking 9 or 10 wins.

So you think nobody plays in the NFL just for the money?
