RIP Pat Devlin should start thread

Devlin had a chance to be in consideration for the starting job and was doing fine actually....up until that pick at the end of that game. Unfortunately for him, I think he blew any chance he had there.

I never did understand this front office's man crush on Garrard. I remember reading that Ireland wanted Garrard last year, but he was injured, so they were happy to land him this year.

That being said, I was fine with them signing Garrard AS A BACKUP veteran player, not with the hopes that he would beat out anyone for the starting job. I was concerned as soon as I saw this staff seriously thought Garrard would make any difference at all starting by trying to start him right away. Garrard couldn't even start due to his 34-year-old crap knee.

This team then further eroded my confidence by going hard after Manning; which, again, I didn't mind. But by not landing him, they showed their lack of confidence in Moore. Tannehill was the only real option they had at #8, after that.

So, now we're stuck with Moore, who you know the front office doesn't have faith in, and Garrard, who you hope the front office realizes is not a legitimate candidate to start, and Tannehill, who everyone is pinning their hopes on.

I agree with the above poster that Devlin has shown good development and should definitely be considered as our #3, while cutting Garrard. Let the battle begin between Moore and Tannehill.

No matter what though, it doesn't look like Garrard or Moore will be on this team next year. I'm all for keeping Devlin and hoping he keeps getting better.

Lol if you don't believe the third string in drafted bum should start you're a brainwashed media zombie!!!! Classic

Totally agree. I was at the game and guess who appeared to be more open than the receiver he chose. Mr. 7-11 himself, Chris Hogan.

Did you guys watch the game last night or were you at mcDonalds? How about last week? You probably think so highly of Tannehill because he was drafted in the first round, even though he was not a winning qb in college. Devlin has far more experience than him, and was a more prolific passer in college than Tannehill (or Moore or Garrard). You were the ones talking s#!# about Pennington and acclaiming Henne, while some of you really like what Moore did for us last year winning 6 of 12 (and saying 6 of 9). Just watch with your eyes and you will see. Just watch next week...it will all play out in the long run. Don't get me wrong, I'm alright with Tannehill starting, and when he goes down Devlin can take over and never look back, and you guys can say that you knew it all along.

devlin couldn't hit hogan without anyone covering him in the 4th quarter of a pre season game. youve got to be kidding me.

ya know success in college is great but ya know what theres a reason why tannehill was considered a round 1-2 prospect and a top 18 player by mike mayock, and pat devlin wasnt drafted by a single team.

if he becomes some HOF QB ill eat crow, but until then, lets root for our top 10 pick rookie QB with a LIVE arm, a ton of mobility, a clear grasp of our offense, and 2 preseason games under his belt... instead of calling for his head and annointing pat devlin....

Do you HATERS realize he IS a Dolphin. Let the man who plays best PLAY! We're on the same side here!!!
