Rishard Matthews

He played well in his second year, and I believe he will take another step this year. As far as I know, he was our only contributing WR to be working out with Tannehill so far. This has to help, and says a lot about his desire to get better.

well if u are an NFL teams's 4th receiver u might want to take that plan of action

You would think but, fact is that he did it. With Hartline and Gibson recovering, and Wallace not there, I'm sure he got a lot of VG work in with RT. I like everything I see and hear about the kid, and wish him nothing but the best.

Marine Sgt for a dad who had him sit a year for grades, 7 different HS's, and a workout warrior. What's not to like?

Well we never really know who these guys are but for what he is I like having him on our team but I don't see him becoming much more than he already is. I think most NFL players are workout warriors.
I never judge anybody based on who their dad is, because everyone is unique. Im pretty sure Philbin was a solid dad and we all know how things went with one of his children unfortuantely

I thought Gibson was amazing for us last year, but I guess Matthew's ceiling is higher

The article sounded like they are now expecting Gibson back. That's too bad. He was just coming on when he got hurt.

I could see Gibson starting out on the PUP. He hurt his knee in late October, can't see him being ready for camp or even the season.

I think Matthews makes both Hartline and Gibson expendable

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!

i like mathewws a lot and see a big upside, but as of RIGHT NOW, he is not a wart on brian hartlines arse and the only reason gibson could lose his slot job is if he isnt back from the in jury.

both of these guys have played big time ball in the nfl so far and resead is nothing more than an up and comer. over half of the qb's in the nfl would make hartline a pro bowl wr. he doesnt have 4.2 speed but he gets open regularly and he gets open QUICK and you have to read fast and throw fast when that window opens. 2 feet is open in the nfl.

tanny hasnt quite gotten that down with any consistency.......yet.

but all in all, you do not get rid of PROVEN nfl talent for a maybe. he would have to show a WHOLE LOT this year to make any of that happen NEXT offseason.

i just do not see hartline going anywhere soon, no matter what mathews does. hartline gets open regularly, has good hands and is a consumate pro and team mate.

" Gibson is owed $3.7 million in 2014 and in jeopardy of losing his roster spot coming off knee surgery."

I really cant stand poor speculation from these wannabe media "journalists".

Wallace, Hartline, Gibson are not going anywhere and are #1,2,3 in the depth charts respectively when they are all healthy. Mathews played great last year when Gibson went down but Gibson is still the better player and with 2 more years on his contract will be here to stay. Mathews will be the #4 over guys like Binns and Williams or any draft pick because of what he showed last year.

The speculation on Gibson being the odd man out make no sense because he was RT's go to guy at the start of last season and is on a pretty good contract for us right now.

IMO, he needs to get more open/separation and he'll be very good (much harder to do from the X or Y than the slot). The body, physicality, YAC, speed and hands are all there. Just get sharper routes and improve technique.
