Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore......

6 return touchdowns with more called back, he's literally on pace to be the #2 best returner of all time next to only Hester...

that's not my opinion, it's just numbers.

Terrell Owens (3rd round), Cris Carter, Andre Reed, Steve Largent, Charlie Joiner, Derek Mason, Don Maynard (9th round), Rod Smith (undrafted), Keenan McCardell (13th round), Harold Jackson (12th round)....all those receivers were drafted in the 4th round or later except for Owens. All those receivers finished their careers or are continuing their careers with 10,000 plus yards receiving.

Your kind of making my point for me. there are plenty of examples but on average this is not the production u get. I said the odds are against it didnt say it never happened. quite a bit more often than not its doesnt happen so odds are against it. hell being that Ireland drafted him the odds are not great. patrick turner and hartline have not outdid that number so why should we assume gates will

i ahve always said thats the one area he could be very special

Point is, you can't say either way. He's yet to play a game. Gates has got the speed to do it...can he have better hands than Ginn? Too early to say yet. If he does, then he could very well surpass those numbers.

i never said either way. i said the odds are against it. As for speed its the most overrated football attribute in the league. there are alot of below average guys that are only in league bacause they are fast. Ginn is or was probably faster than Gates but he was far from a stud.

ok... but even the ppl who are down on him agree he is an amazing returner...

Was it really worth it to trade away an amazing returner for a late round pick?? He would have made this team ahead of moore or wallace for sure...

I do? Hahahahahaha... Yeah right. One ****ing TD a year is not worth all the times he runs out of bounds at the 18 yard line. Patrick ****ing Cobbs was a better return man on kickoffs than Ginn. Plus the poor ******* couldn't catch a punt to save his life. A bag of peanuts > Ginn.

Ginn is playing much tougher on returns for the 49ers, he doesn't just try to get out of bounds as fast as possible. The fact is they are getting the most out of him. At one point we had Cobbs on KO returns and Bess on punt retunrs with Ginn just sitting there on the bench. It all just adds to the mounting pile of evidence that our coaching staff and FO is terrible.

Also Ginn had 2 or 3 more TDs called back on penalties last season.

He always showed his true potential whenever we played the Jets and that alone should have been enough to keep him.

Never was a fan of the Ginn draft pick at 9, but I didnt want him traded for a low pick either, Marshall & Ginn could have been absolutely lethal, but we will never know.

His return skills were well above average. That will be our biggest loss I believe.

Ginn was a scrub who shouldnt have gotten drafted. He was just fast but all that speeds means nothing when your out of bounds. Im glad hes gone he is soft and cant catch, he should be running track. Ill take my chances with Gates or who ever is returning kicks.

Really?

Here I thought Ginn was in the 2007 draft while Ireland was still with the Cowboys! :ponder:

Ginn was, but that has nothing to do with the post you quoted. dlockz is referring to Clyde Gates there.

Dont let one good game fool you hes not that good of a returner

Ted Ginn is a very good returner and reciever. He was never a number 1 and everyone knew except the dolphins. I would take ginn over moore and wallace.

This is his 5th season, six TDs doesn't seem like that many for a "special" payer. and aren't 4 of those 6 TDs in 2 games?

Well whether it seems special or not doesn't really matter, because frankly it is. Only devin hester has had more return TD's since Ginn came into the league. Hes #2

I don't see how #2 returner in the league in touchdowns isn't special

And the fact that he had 4 of them in 2 games doesn't really hurt his cause... you could argue that he WON those games by HIMSELF. Pretty rare for a player to do that who isn't a QB.

Since when is Ginn the number 2 returner in Football??? Has everyone forgot about Cribbs, or even DeSean Jackson?? Leon Washington has 7 return TD's too so I'd put him ahead of Ginn also. I'd also much rather have Percy Harvin as a returner than Ginn.
