Roberto Wallace/Marlon Moore Expectations

Welcome to the offseason, where every FO move is the correct move and every young roster stash is set to realize his potential.
I don't think you believe that. In fact there is no way you believe that. there is a lot of critisim going around, even since the draft.

He probably did lead the league in dropped TD passes though.. Im not sure of how many dropped TD's he had but im sure he left close to 30 or 40 points on the field.

When someone says, "one things for certain" and they are wrong....I see a problem as he is using incorrect infor to try and prove a point, regardless. Not sure about the drops TDs, but I know for certain BM was NOT the most dropped catches WR. Roddy was.

I'm curious how we got down the field....to get near the endzone for those horrible drops....couldn't be 1200 yards from BM could it?
Amazing that Moore kept looking for him too....wonder who he will be looking for this season.....he must have always thrown to BM because of his huge ego :rolleyes2:

I see a lot more of blind faith then criticism. I've seen posts how Egnew/Wallace/enter scrub WR here will make us forget about BM...lol

Obviously, there is a (growing) contingency of cynics around here. But you cant tell me homerism isnt still rampant when we're talking about Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace breaking out.

People are free to have whatever opinion of Marshall they like, and he's definately not without his faults. The other side of this is the attention Marshall pulled from defenses. One of the buzz words being thrown around here and with defenders that were interviewed regarding Marshall was "bracket coverage", freeing up the other WRs to make plays . I cant image that type of respect will be paid to any of the WRs left on the roster, and i fully expect Reggie will see a heck of alot more 8 man fronts this season. I will HAPPILY eat my words if Im wrong about any of this, specifically those 2 roster anchors on this thread that have gotten plenty of hype around here but have done very little to get on the field.

I don't see a lot of people saying... Holy gee whittikers!!! Wallace/moore/rookie is going to totally be better than marshall! who the said anything even remotely close to that? Not one person has said anything about any of our guys putting up numbers better than marshall. All they have said is that some of these guys deserve to have more oppurtunities to show what they have because marshall soaked up a lot of the available targets.

Give me a break! This place has been one big circle-jerk ever since the draft, with everyone thinking Ireland is now the "draft god" and Philphin and WCO will put up 40 points every week with no freeking WR's...its a joke.

Holy gee whittikers? Please point out/highlight/quote where I wrote that anyone said Moore or Wallace will be better than Marshall or will put up similar numbers. You may have gotten carried away in your sarcasm.

These are my thoughts exactly.

It'd be really nice to see a Victor Cruz type breakout performance from one of our guys this year, but that rarely happens and I really don't see it. Welp, hoping against hope once again.

Im only referring to the TD's. I give credit to BM for getting us down the field. Alot of that had to do with Moore simply being a better QB than Henne. Are we better off with him than without him, certainly.. Many say you do not need a number one in Philbins system. I do not follow that train of thought (even when the players say it as this is just player speak). Marshall would have drwan double coverage which would leave someone else open. He may have done better in a west coast scheme than having no scheme at all (similar to what we had last year)

You're exaggerating. link?

where is the hype around these guys? and yes they'd have to put up 700 yards + 4-6 TDs for me to consider them breaking out. Heck, I dont' expect either to make the roster. I'm questioning you on this blind homerism blanket statement bs you and a few others keep throwing around. I don't see it. No one is "blind" as far as this season goes. You see some people optimisitic that we'll have some success spreading the ball around, and you call that blind homerism? ok. well a lot of you are just plain drinking some bitter hatoraide.

someone needs to emerge as a consistant threat at some point. We're due for some luck as far as finding a star player at WR. we have a lot of guys who have shown potential, and maybe this system helps one of them to "number 1 status." It's just so hard to say that none of these guys can pull it off, esp when you consider the guys who have coached the team the last few years. Did any players they coached actually progress? I can think of a few rookies who flashed and then... nothing.

These two have been way over-hyped on this site. I expect them to finally be cut...that's what I expect from them!

Yep. Every offseason seems to be the same with these two.

This is the year ...

Well, um, OK maybe not - but surely this'll be the year they break out ...

Well, they got some more valuable PS time, so I think they'll make the jump this year ...

Kinda makes you wonder how we've been able to stash these gems on our PS without having another team pluck them out from under us. :bobdole:

Have you read through this thread? LOL at you suggesting I'm making any of this up.

I'm with you....just commenting on the no doubt post where he was most dropped.

yeah i've read this thread. and i'm one of the guys who's doubtful they even make the roster. They haven't shown me **** since they got on the toilet. I'm tired of the blanket statements from both sides of the fence. And for the record I haven't seen ANYONE say anyone on this roster is going to "replace" OR "surpass" marshall in the WCO. Link or it didn't happen.

For clairification just in case YOU didn't read this thread.

I don't see how they have the same chance of making the roster. Philbin has nothing invested in these guys, while he does have 2 draft picks invested in the new rookies. If this is a rebuilding year, then it doesn't matter, what have wallace, moore, and pruitt shown in three years that we should cut or stash our rookies? if all things were equal, I keep the rookies.
