Ron Brown will not be starter this year

Hey Oboy and Saban4Prez, hear this man out. Any rookie running back has the problems this man is talking about, and with a very talented veteran on hand it would be foolish to play the rookie, possibly injure the rookie or have him lose confidence. I truly believe the Dolphins got stuck with Ronnie, because of his physical attributes at #2. It was supposedly a no brainer. However Caddy is a much better instinctive runner, and so is Cedric Benson. Ronnie's game of running over defenders to make holes doesn't translate to the NFL, just ask Greg Jones FB not RB for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The same guy that didn't carry the ball once in the preseason game against the Dolphins, the same guy essentially behind supposedly less talented college backs Alexis and Wimbush. Vision is paramount for a RB, then the physical attributes come in.

Any??? Ask Edge and LT in there rookie years!
RB is the easiest postion to make an impact in your rookie year.
Will Brown do the same, only time will tell.

Ron "Sweet Feet" Brown will be used as a 3rd down back and as a slot reciever with Ricky (after suspension) being the number one guy. "Sweet Feet" has trouble finding holes and making instinctive decisions that Ricky does, but looks great receiving and in the open field. Until he becomes more accustomed to the faster NFL game, he will not be our #1 back.

OH YEAH?? We'll see about that when your Rasta Lover isnt' allowed to play the 1st 4 games. Did you forget about that? Ronnie's the #1 friggin Pick!. OF COURSE HE"S GONNA START. Stop Mentally wacking it in your own head and coming on here trying to seem like you KNOW something.

no need to call him that now though, thats a problem that was corrected a long time ago... someone needs to correct it for lamar gordon

Not necessarily, whats the first thing an athlete does when their not used to something, nervous or insecure, they revert to their old ways. Ronnie isn't proven yet, the guy is a rookie. He is not a flawless pick.

Ronnie has only been with the team 9 days, has had a handleful of practices, and hasn't had a preseason carry, yet you are ready to say that he won't be the starter this year. Patience please.

^^im not saying he is, but the sweet feet nickname came when he first went to auburn like 5 years ago... its not really relevant now, everyone might dance sometimes but hes gonna hit a hole like he has for 4 straight years at auburn, like he learned... guys can correct problems in college you know, doesn't mean now that they are in the NFL they have to correct them again everytime

I think Morris will be your no.1 in the first 4 games.
I think your right..........

where the hell did all this "ronnie brown cant hit holes hard enough" or "he doesn't have as much instinct" come from? Whether its true or not no body knows yet because thats in the near future to find out. he hasnt got any carries yet so how does someone come up with this junk?

i just want to trhow out some more recent guys to that as well. look no further then last year.

Stephen jackson.
Julius Jones.
and Kevin Jones.
All three of these guys turned into franchise backs in their rookie season. Stephen jackson even took the starting job from a hall of famer. And NONE of them were as hyped as Ronnie Brown. I guess im just expecting to much?

Don't expect to much with a makeshift offensive line and and with us being behind in most of our games and having to play catch-up. Running backs don't function well against 8 man fronts and most teams will play that when we don't have a QB that they fear.

Can I assume that if Brown DOES start, you'll perform the appropriate flip-flopsi?

I don't really see the comparison of Ronnie Brown to Greg Jones. RB is a smaller (only 20lbs) MUCH faster back. GJ is a bigger, slower more of a bruising kind of back, more fitted to being a FB. I think RB has pretty good vision. It'll take a couple of weeks to get to NFL speed, but I think he'll get there. He played in the SEC & for a team that should have competed for the National Championship, so the competition they faced was top notch. He's proven himself worthy of being a NFL TB.

This board "sucks" :(

EDITED: It doesnt really "suck", but you know what I mean.
