Yeah, he's supposed to run up and block for himself first, then run back, get the handoff, and hit the hole he just created for himself. Shame on Nick for this pick.............

The fact of the matter is that there were about 4 plays today that Ronnie's poor vision were readily apparent (i.e. he HAD decent blocking/cutback lanes). A back with good vision would have had himself another 25 yards on said plays at least.
 
Also, falling on the ball on a busted play hurts his overall yards as well. He probably had 70-75 positive yards that was hurt by the ten yard loss he took on that play as well as the few other times he was met in the backfield by a defender.
 
relax boys - ronnie missed some holes (never seen a runningback do that before) and he had happy feet (maybe because on at least 4 occasions he was hit 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage) but on a positive note - when he lowers his shoulder he HAMMERS people (ask bailey), he has good burst and falls FORWARD picking up an extra yard or two. He was EXCELLENT at picking up the blitz ( best blocking from one of our skills players i've seen in a couple seasons...and he's a rookie) and he has hands as soft as a baby's bottom ( that one handed catch was SICK!) - ronnie showed me the stuff of a starter on this squad and will get better. Give him a chance boys, I would love to have this conversation at the bye-week, then we talk Ronnie and his pluses and minuses.

You don't know what you are talking about. I've watched Ronnie his entire career. There is nothing wrong with his vision.

There were no cut back lanes. All of the cut back lanes were being filled by that 8th and 9th defender.

I beg to differ. You are telling me that out of TWENTY TWO carries that there were NO cutback lanes??? Come on...

He had one good lane to run through, and he popped out a 15 yard gain on that play.

We'll agree to disagree re. his relevant skill set and today's performance.

It doesn't fit their agenda. If they mention that, how can they continue to think he was a bust?

Not to mention the 10 yd loss on that pathetic toss by Gus. If Ronnie had jumped on that ball, the tide of the game could have taken a serious change for the worse. He looked really good in blitz pick-ups and seemed to be more comfortable running as the game went on. He also made that great catch to extend the drive that ended in the game's 1st td.
