Great, but stand by your statement. TO thinks he outplayed his contract, Walker thinks he outplayed his contract. How are you to judge their value?

Javon walker should get at least a decent contract. TO has made almost double what javon Walker has made in his career in one year. TO has a contract thats more than decent.

he played like a stud for one year. There are a lot of one year wonders in the NFL

So what? He agreed to the deal, he needs to live up to it. What if the team agrees with you and gives Walker a huge deal, and then he goes back to being a mediocre player? Does he give the money back? When he completes his contract then fine, become a free agent and let the bidding begin.....until then he needs to shut up and fulfill the contract he agreed to.

Javon Walker is getting cheated, TO is not

How is signing a contract and then not fufilling it getting cheated? Like I've said to you before I'm fine with him holding out, thats part of this business. He's not getting cheated by it.

if they can cut him close to the end of his contract (usually when players get the bulk amount of money from their contract) then the playersshould be able to ask for new contracts

Players should also earn their contracts and not sign them unless they have enough guerenteed money.

You're using the Drew reasoning and it's not exactly right. It's the same as anyone else work if you don't like the parameters of the contract you signed then don't sign it. You know going in that they can cut you, thats a chance you take when you play in the NFL, the team has all the leverage. If you don't like it stay in school, get a degree and start a business where you are the boss.

Yes, and so does TO...he needs to shut up and fulfill his contract...

It's easy for me to say that on this board, but contracts are negotiated based on the market and the players potential...if the market changes, that doesn't make the contract bad and if the player suddenly becomes an All-Pro, it doesn't make the contract bad. For every J. Walker, there is a Ryan Leif that got paid millions and didn't contribute anywhere near his contract's worth...The teams, in reality, get screwed the most with these things..not the players..

Yes, Owens is 100% wrong. Regardless if he is a top-3 talent, he is wrong. Here's why:

TO was a top-3 WR before last year, right? Right. So he negotiated his contract (his agent speaks for him, so he negotiated and agreed to it) and took what the Eagles were offering (if you're gonna argue that he had no choice, well that was his fault too).

He was the 2nd highest paid player at his position last year, behind only Marvin Harrison.......yet he didn't produce as such, he was only the 10th most productive WR by receiving yards.....has anyone yet heard T.O. offer to give any money bback for that???

He DID NOT GET THE EAGLES TO THE SUPERBOWL!! and he did not get them home-field advantage. They proved for 2 years before he got there that they were a team that could accomplish that w/o TO. What they couldn't do was win the Championship game....w/o TO. So TO came back for the Super Bowl ad was their best player.....but did he help them win???? NO. TO did not help the Eagles win anyhting that they couldn't have one w/o him.

but now he wants more money.....why?? If he wants to be fair....he should givesome back for last year. Then go out and prove he's better than the 34th best WR (or wherever is salary ranks him this year) and stay healthy for a whole season, then maybe ask nicely for more compensation.....until then, he should just shut the f up!!
Yeah but if he played like **** for the next two years it would be ok for the Eagles to just cut him even though they agreed on the same contract. You see it cant work one way and not the other. If you play better then your contract you have every right to ask for a new one considering the fact if you play below your value Teams have every right to terminate your contract
