Ronnie/Ricky Backfield

I can say that bills fans were saying the EXACT same thing last year and look how that panned out. It might work out great for the dolphins but I am just saying what looks good on paper doesn't always translate into production.

Well, the difference is for one is that we have two players who will both tolerate splitting carries. Ronnie Brown has already come out and said that he is fine with it. Ricky Williams obviously is all for it.

The other big difference, which helps logistically is that both Ronnie and Ricky can block. Ronnie Brown could play fullback if he wasnt such a skilled runner, and has and will line up at the position. Ricky isnt as good a blocker, but he's got experience at fullback too.

I think as far as them both being on the field, there is certain niches they can fill. Ronnie Brown probabaly will never be as good a rusher as Ricky circa 2002, but Ricky doesnt have the recieving or blocking skills Brown does.

Brown is the logical choice to line up at different positions when Ricky is on the field. He poses matchup problems Ricky doesnt. At 4.4 -4.5 speed, he's not someone a linebacker or strong safety will be able to stay with. Nor is a 190 pound cornerback going to be able to jam a 235 pound player who has the physical mentality/strength to lead block and to be a power runner.

I'm starting to think that playing Ricky in hopes he'll do well enough to draw a trade is more important than Ronnie having a breakout season. Let's get a nice pick for him ASAP !!!!! During preseason even!!!

So does Yoda have to use the kid's urinal when he has to go in a restaurant, or does he have to use the force to aim higher.

Didn't Ronnie run like a 4.32 at the combine?

No, he ran like a 4.45. At his workouts, he ran like a 4.4 flat. Not quite a 4.32, but still faster then all of the runningbacks in round one and 2 of the 3 recievers.

i believe ricky should be a third down back.Ronnie should start bc he has more fresh legs and has actually played in a while.

Ricky would not be an ideal 3rd down back because he doesn't catch the ball that well with his tiny mits. He also gets beat a lot when trying to protect the QB. Plus, you can't waste his power playing only one down.
