Rookie camp day 1 updates

you didnt even know who he was untill we drafted him. i would bet anything in my hosue..., no....my hosue itself that you never saw ONE GAME he played BEFORE the draft.

so, that being said, how do you ACTUALLY KNOW the guy wont start? he is like any other rookie, maybe he can play, maybe he wont but acting like you KNOW is the only thing that deserves the laughing emoticon at the end.

I used to live in Missoula, Mt... I know the Griz very well.. Thank you for assuming things.

I have seen him play before, lots actually. I love that we drafted him. I always enjoy seeing us take one of the guys from zoo town, I even wished we took Tru Johnson a few years ago. I just know that expecting a rookie, especially one coming from a division 2 school, to come in and beat NFL veterans out for a starting spot are slim to none..

You would have lost your house.... and cars.. and everything :chuckle:

Yeah I don't get this Jordan Tripp love either, is it because he's a white linebacker!

People act like this dude was a #1 pick.
I think he could be pretty good. He is very confident, athletic and has good instincts - I like him a lot. However, I strongly doubt that he's a starter. Joe seems to like to develop the rookies slowly. I expect that he plays on Special Teams to begin with. But if he starts shining in practice, who knows?

We're not talking about a Top 10 draft choice here. The dude was taken pretty late by a rookie GM that his former employer wanted to push out before he 'jumped' to the Dolphins.
The dude is a lottery ticket. There's potential and measurables up the ying-yang but no one really knows how he'll fare against the best in the world.
Ellerbe shined for a world champion Ravens team. He struggled last year but I think he'll rebound and his talent will win out this season. Wheeler is not only a bum, but an undisciplined punk as well. His penalty late in the 4th qtr vs Tampa lost us that game. A stupid late hit on a 3rd and long that should've had Tampa punting from deep in their territory becomes a 1st down that leads to a small drive that ate 3 minutes and flipped field position.
It wasn't Wheeler's only terrible transgression either. That stuff is what should get an NFL player cut.

I get so sick of omar's constant. "interesting, intriguing, and telling" etc. God that guy thinks he is so wise

“@OmarKelly: We'll never be happy together Dolfans. I need to break up with you.”don't let the door hit ya

no doubt he's fluid...but he also lacks long speed...the size is great sure...but i will be surprised if he cracks our top 4 rotation at corner this year...too much flat footed and squatting play in off coverage and at the pro level if you get that he will be cooked

depends on if jimmy wilson gets slot run as to whether i think he'd crack that top 4...more likely competing with will davis

Aikens ran a 4.42 at his pro day and he looks plenty fast on film tracking receivers down field, I don't see any issue with his long speed.

There is certainly more to being a good receiver than speed. Running a route isn't just "take three steps, cut right, look for ball". It's a bit of an art to read and set up your DB. There are guys out there that get separation to make catches all the time who don't have great measurables. Welker ran a 4.65 at his pro day. Boldin a 4.71. A 4.71? That dude will never be more than a #3 slot guy right? Riiight.
