I appreciate Mr. Ross attempting to get ahead of the brewing controversy with his team. However, this press conference could have been done Friday or tomorrow...not two hours before a huge game on national TV. Ross' timing has never been impeccable (Florida Gators Day and forcing his team up to NY a day earlier to see a Lombardi play are two that come to mind).

I was not totally against everything he said. The content was fine and he has to protect his brand name. I do think he is making a mistaking doubling down on Joe without the investigation not even close to being finished. I am not sure what is so special about Joe Philbin as a HC (let's see how hard this team plays for him tonight). However, my issue right now is the timing. You know the players caught wind that he was giving a major presser and would be interested in the content. Do it tomorrow in Davie on an off day.

Play the game tonight.

He did it for the 4 letter network to have to report tonight.

The time for getting ahead of it has come and gone. Now it's all thrust/parry/ripsote. There was absolutely
nothing to be gained by doing the presser now. If he wanted to do it close to gamtime, friday would've been the day.
Or like you said; Tomorrow. I don't like this move at all.

How many players do you think are actually paying attention to ESPN prior to the game? Give me a break.

Mr. Ross really means well, but he just does not get it.

Let's see how fans agree with him about Joe if the team tosses out a clunker tonight.

He had no choice, Hayden. Its apparent that he is new at this
And as some posters said, his new committee includes major players on national pre/post games (Dan and Tony Dungy)

There will be tons of commentary tonight again as all week. It's good to know his public stance before the national game. It does not add to the already monster distraction.

I like the committee. I think it is an awesome idea. Announce it tomorrow. All effort needs to be beating Tampa. He took away from that effort tonight. We shall see. I do not see this major beat down that others are talking about.

Players are already out on the field warming up. This is a non issue.

If Joe Philbin is a good coach and can prepare the team to win games, they will win. If Joe Philbin is not a good enough coach to guide the team through this, they will lose.

If anything, I'm glad he did it. More pressure on Joe. Let's find out what he's made of.

Exactly, a ridiculous issue......

It's just so stupid, yet I am replying to it.

meh I don't agree, you think players are watching or even the coach? highly doubtful, they are usually plugged into their iPod at this point running pregame warm ups

The players were literally already out on the field warming up as Ross was giving this press conference. Non issue, IMO.
