Ross Created an Unnecessary Distraction Tonight

This was a good move IMO b/c if not all night we were most likely going to ripped by Gruden & Tirico this way they can discuss what the Fins are going to do moving forward. This is about his brand & all those that will watch tonight that are not Dolphin fans & don't know some of the details we know about b/c of this site may have a better opinion of the Fins organization he is trying to show he cares which as a long time fan I appreciate. Also no shock to hear about your opinion of Philbin.

I think Stephen Ross looks sincere when he spoke to the media. I'm really glad to see someone down there that really cares about ALL his players. He made a good choice by naming a Jets star and fan favorite, a true gentleman, Curtis Martin, as one of his committed. Great choice. Having said that, I really really really don't want to hear in the future that Ross was the one that paid the woman that was sexually harassed by Incognito, to keep it quiet.

it might help the team to know their coach is staying, it makes their jobs more secure

I appreciate Mr. Ross attempting to get ahead of the brewing controversy with his team. However, this press conference could have been done Friday or tomorrow...not two hours before a huge game on national TV. Ross' timing has never been impeccable (Florida Gators Day and forcing his team up to NY a day earlier to see a Lombardi play are two that come to mind).

I was not totally against everything he said. The content was fine and he has to protect his brand name. I do think he is making a mistaking doubling down on Joe without the investigation not even close to being finished. I am not sure what is so special about Joe Philbin as a HC (let's see how hard this team plays for him tonight). However, my issue right now is the timing. You know the players caught wind that he was giving a major presser and would be interested in the content. Do it tomorrow in Davie on an off day.

Play the game tonight.

I'm sorry, but you making a big deal about the "timing" of this interview is no different than the media overhyping this entire issue. We need to stop "over-analyzing" every interview and statement people make. Our players are professional athletes who get paid BANK. They better be able to deal with it, if not, they can LEAVE just like Jonathan MARTIN. Game time in 60 MINUTES!!

Why do you have to over analyze everything and then on top just bash Philbin? I mean come on dude lay off!

I call it as I see it. I think the presser is awful timing...I think some of the content was good, but the timing was bad. I give him credit he is trying to get ahead of things the best he can...I just hate the timing.

As for Joe Philbin, he leaves a ton to be desired as a coach. Right or wrong, this giant controversy happened on his watch. His teams rarely perform on what he is stressing (TO differential and starting fast). His teams cannot finish.

I miss what makes him so special as a coach. I hope, like his team, he shows improvement.

I like the committee. I think it is an awesome idea. Announce it tomorrow. All effort needs to be beating Tampa. He took away from that effort tonight. We shall see. I do not see this major beat down that others are talking about.

yeah, I am not quite sure the significance of this prior to the game. I agree.

It's a good thing your opinion doesn't matter!

I don't see how this is going to have any affect on the game, unless Phin players are worried that something Ross is going to say is going to hinder their performance tonight. It's not like Ross is saying, "You guys are going to lose your job and paycheck if the Bucs beat you tonight."
