Ross gives McDaniel vote of confidence?

Well, I actually do think there's a faction of posters who get out of hand with the insults when guys like @MrChadRico posts things that are critical, but fair and accurate.

I mean let's be honest here. We haven't even sniffed a playoff win for decades. There have been, and are issues with the team.

Rico gets out of hand at times too. I think he has acknowledged that. Hell, I get out of hand sometimes when something strikes me the wrong way.

Sometimes, I even regret it.......lol.
It all started during the offseason. When I wanted Grier to fix the oline and was trashed for saying so.

I'll go back if you'd like me too and find the thread where I said I've had enough of the "good fans" treating the "critics" like **** and getting away with it.

Look at this place now, there are entire threads where the frustrated fans can actually discuss the negative aspects of the team and not be called names or banned or told to leave the forum for doing so.

Thats progress!

Personally, I'm probably done anyway, Grier won't get fired, I'll leave and the place will probably go back to how it was before, run by the delusional and every conversation is a gas-lighting optimistic fantasy.

The franchise is a joke, has been a joke and so is a good portion of the fans that post on here.

People claim ive lost credibility becuase of my stance and aggressive behavior towards this group and that's fair, but "credibility" is the wrong term. I've lost "respect," not credibility, to lose credibility you have to be incorrect on stuff. I'm not incorrect, I'm just an asshole, there's a big difference.

The funny thing is I don't think they even pay attention to were we stand in the draft. We dropped from 11 to 12 I believe. We were never going to pick inside the top 9 as those teams all are awful and have 4 wins or less. So no matter how many wins or losses it has always been between 10 to 18 if we miss the POs.
Spot on observation.

To add: Can anyone point to any evidence that picking, say, 12 in the draft, compared to, say, 16, makes a lick of difference when it comes to the likelihood you'll end up with a blue chip talent? I suspect not, because the draft is a bit of a crap shoot, and there are fantastic players found scattered through picks 1 to 32 every year. Obviously, having a higher draft pick raises the odds you'll hit on a prospect, but I suspect the difference between picks 10-20 is fairly marginal.

So what is this really all about? Do the Debbie Downers on this forum really think picking 11 or 12 versus 15 or 16 is going to make that much of a difference in terms of the quality of our next draft class? I doubt it. And if they do, I don't think they get to chest thump about being the 'realists' on the forum.

My suspicion is that it has a lot more to do with them being miserable ***** who get some queer satisfaction out of spending a lot of time on a Miami Dolphins message board shitting on fans who are happy when the team wins while their playoff hopes are still alive. Weird stuff.

So you are fine if they hire a GM that likes McD and relates the intent to keep him during the interview process?
The only way you could even ask me to entertain the idea of giving McD just one more year is he would have to hire a real NFL OC who calls all the plays

The real drop off is around 10-12 were odds start to really go down... But alot of people forget about the rookie wage scale...

The upside of top 10 drafted players also comes with the risk of ~10M per salaries for these rookies... A top 10 bust is a crippling mistake.
