Ross: Marshall was going to be cut/Other issues addressed

We're lucky we got what we got for him.

I think we did well for a change.

This. And BM did not produce enough to warrant we gave up for him, even with our qb situation. Now its up to the FO to make the most of those couple of picks coming up.

Fans complain and protest because they want answers about what is going on. When the GM and owner make public statements about what is going on, those same people complain that they don't want to hear what they have to say because they think it is all spin. Either those people are dumb, or just plain ignorant. You got the explanation you yelled for, and it still is not good enough. You wanted some insight into the moves the past week and when you get it you just brush it off as spin.

What Ross did was very classy, and I am sure some of it was spin, but I don't think he was lying at all. He truly does care about winning, and I think he is still learning on the job to be a good NFL owner. Sadly for us, it is taking a little longer than it should have. Still though, I think we are much closer to a stable front office compared to the "circus" some uneducated fans think they are.

I dont understand the clamor to hear Ireland or Ross make statements. All you get is spin and what do you expect. I mean seriously would Ireland come out and say yea we tried to bring in somebody better to be our starter over Moore and we failed to sign anyone. That would be quite stupid and counter productive. I mean does anyone ever say Yea we ddint get who we really wanted in the draft but we hope these guys work out , they say these were the people we wanted all along. Same for Ross do have you heard him say, yea Peyton wouldnt even consider us.

I liked this article. And for those saying it is just PR spinning...it could very well be. But you also have to realize, every statement he made wasn't a huge stretch of the imagination either, which I think says something all on its own about the validity of at least some of his comments.

people believe what they want to believe. I mean seriously its got so bad publicity wise Ross is now doing stunts like this. Some people believed that we never discussed our coaching job with hARBAUGH . I mean once again do you honestly expect Ross to say yea we really wanted that guy but he chose somewhere else . We ended uo signing Garrard not because he is so good but because noone else would.

This is an early strike against Philbin imo, do you think Belichick would flat out cut his best offensive player just because he doesn't like his personality? Have a little confidence in your coaching abilities Mr. Philbin!

Here we go and I've been waiting for this. Philbin hasn't coached his first game yet or been involved in his first draft yet and it's time to start criticizing him as well. Unbelievable. Things are indeed pretty sad around here :(

Ross is NOT "classy". If he was he wouldn't have pursued a coach (Harbaugh) when he still had a coach in place. That is as classless as it gets. Ross is also clueless when it comes to the NFL. The fact is, Ireland should've been fired when Sparano was. Unfortunately we are stuck with Ross as the owner for awhile.

Because not everyone's gullible!! Sorry, don't believe him ... suspect he used half-truths with spin.

They talk the talk ... but SELDOM walk the walk ... seen consistently!! You have to earn trust, thus I have none!!

im not a prostester and i still dont believe any statements ross or ireland puts out.

Very cool from Ross... and for the people saying this was all just a PR Stunt, so what if it was? Everything that Ross said was very believable - why pay smith 8million when matt moore is probably just as good? Even if it wasn't entirely the truth, I can respect Ross for going out of his way and addressing the concerns, and it makes me feel a whole lot better about the upcoming season.

This is what I saw from the events that transpired.

We are rebuilding on offense and they want to keep the defense in place so that when the offense finally comes around, we will be in thick of it again.

How long it will take the offense to rebuild is the question.

Philbin has a lot of say on the offense IMO.

He will bring in the guys he wants and Ireland will make it happen.

It sucks to basically be rebuilding, but Philbin wants this done his way and I don't blame him.

When Philbin said we were ONE QB away, I think he meant we were Peyton Manning away from contending.

Since we swung and missed on him, they are on to plan B.

Agree with it or not (an I suspect many don't), this team will be built through the draft.

clearly a front office failure. should have never done the trade to begin with. Marshall is the same guy he always was.

Agreed. Everybody need to watch and wait to see what Philbin will do. Ireland will give Philbin what he wants out of the draft. This is the Philbin show. Grab yourself a beer, buffalo wings, sit back and chill. I'm looking forward to Thursday, April 26, 2012.
