Ross pushing for Tannehill?

I really hope it is a bluff because otherwise the Dolphins are really going to be screwed until Ross sells the team or croaks.

Football is incredibly interesting to me, how GM's operate, & all about the players and coaches but the owners????

There is no bigger kill-joy for me than continuing to read about what Ross says or wants and knowing he is the Dolphins owner. Huizinga & the NFL screwed up. They should not have allowed the sale to Ross. He is exactly the type of owner who does not know, understand or appreciate the legacy of America's most popular sport.

what makes you think this isn't bull****, it's not like you couldn't say anything you want and not be held accountable.
Do you really think Ross the billionaire is that stupid and we are that smart.
Ross built his fortune doing deals.
Please forget this crap

in an interview on WQAM Jeff said his board has been set since the combines. Since then Tannehill has risen to top 10 in many projections. i've got a feeling this is a smokescreen and they have other plans at 8. Maybe trade down which would be fine by me.
Not saying they will not take him but 8 seems a reach.

I want nothing to do with Weeden, I can't see him being any better than Moore.

That makes no sense I know you're a tannehill supporter but weeden is clearly better then Tann but because of his age that will be his biggest flaw but that would mean tannehill is no better then Moore so why draft a dude who won't start and can't beat moore. All tann has going for him is pocket awareness but if you think he's better then weeden then your crazy.

The ONLY reason Ross would like Tannehill is because Tannehill's personality impressed him during the wining and dining the Dolphins did with him. Ross is clueless as to Tannehill's ability and if Tannehill will be successful in the NFL. Ross just needs to shut the hell up and stay out of the football decisions.

Well if Florio says it, then it must be true ... SMH. No accountability. Just piling it on.

Funny that this piece by PFT will blow up the net and no one will take notice of the Armando story which proves this story is a complete fabrication. Florio is setting it up for more Dolphins bashing in the event Tannehill is not selected, or even if he is. If he doesn't last until #8, Miami will have "failed". If they pass on him at #8, that means Ireland went against the owner and has created dysfunction in the organization. If they take him at #8, it is because of the meddlesome owner. Come on people, Florio is setting this up for a post draft Dolphins bash piece. Don't take the obvious made up bait.

The Miami Herald, citing a "very, very, very highly-placed source," is disputing a Profootballtalk.com report that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is pushing for the team to draft Ryan Tannehill. The source stated that Ross has "not had any conversation" with GM Jeff Ireland telling him who to draft. While Ross has made player recommendations to Ireland in the past, the Herald's Armando Salguero insists that's not happening in this particular instance. Writes Salguero, "The kid (Tannehill) is simply too raw to beat out veterans Matt Moore or David Garrard. So there's that."

Oh my god, here we go again with the "he's a billionaire so he smarter than the world" bull****. Get a reality check. This guy may know business, but he knows **** about football. The guy is a ****ing moron when it comes to football. He bought the team to rub shoulders with the "in crowd" because he is a ****ing geek who needs to "get a life."

We do not need a Al Davis or Jerry Jones in Miami and regardless of what the press says and some fans there will be a lot of pressure to play him this year and next and according to everything I have heard Tannhill is 2 years away from playing which means if he cannot produce by next year as a decent starter Ireland is gone. He may be gone anyway but that will definitly be the case. Sherman better know his stuff if we draft Tannehill and if we do not with Sherman as the OC and his career on the line then it is pretty much the right move. Parcells has Tannehill ranked the 3rd best Qb and has him to be taken at the end of the 1st round and Parcells has Oswielller as the next best QB after Tannehill tken early 2nd followed by Cousin in the 2nd later and Weeden in the 4th I believe. Personally at this posint I hope Cleveland takes Tannhill at this point so we are not force into the move and listen to all the know it all puntiffs who say we blew it. Remember Cleveland drafting that QB Brady Quinn we passed for Ginn. While the Ginn pick was way to high for the kid in the long run it was much better than the Cleveland QB pick. That pick cost that coach his job along with the GM. You pick a QB in the first round as a GM you live and die by that sword. I am not sold on Oswieller either. I want winners maybe Weeden maybe the kid Ryan Lindley.

And I love all his B list a.k.a. washed up celebrities that he brings in. Ross is basically a rich nobody who wants people to think he is somebody. He can only rub elbows with washed up has beens. The guy is a clueless geek when it comes to owning a professional football team.
