Ross says he ready to take "drastic" measures

if they can Philbin and Jeff stays i'll be pissed.

if i'm the boss and they do find some wrong doing i'd fire a couple of assistants like the O line coach but keep both Philbin and Ireland until the end of the year.
Judge them by the teams performance not this crap.
So far Philbin at 4 and 4 gets a C. Irelands draft class has contributed nothing other than a kicker who misses lots of kicks and a 3rd overall pick who plays part time so his grade is much lower.

The right way to do it would be to fire Ireland and hire a new GM and let him decide the fate of the head coach.

ireland was probably not mentioned because he isn't in the locker room, or coaching the players. he was also bringing water to the tuna when parcells brought in incognito. none of this is on him, except drafting jonathan martin (with zero red flags as to his psychological makeup). he is blameless in this.

The scenario which shows Ireland out the door the fastest, is the most appealing to me IMO. I don't care if he signed Calvin Johnson on a $3m contract, his draft history alone proves him as a failure. Ireland sucks.

If anything, I'd be pissed that Ireland drafted Martin.

Give me one GM who would consider keeping the staff intact after this situation??? Even without this situation, a new GM - 95% of the time means new staff (that is what their job is). You think Ross will hire a new GM and tell him no you cant touch our coaching staff?? Yeah, that's not realistic.

This is the problem. While I have no doubt Ross wants to keep Philbin you can't hand-cuff a new GM like that. Either he's in charge of EVERYTHING or NOT!

Only way I see a handcuff like that is if they promote within, which would honestly disappoint the hell out of me.

I really thought Jeff had got it right this year with some good free agent signing and moving up for a playmaker in Dion.
The way I look at it is even in a bad draft we usually get two or three starters. This last draft was really bad. The seasons half over and our two new corner have barely seen the field. Dion is part time as are Sims and the Fla LBer. Sturgis i guess you could call a starter but you get my point.

Maybe if Jeff goes they just get a GM guy and don't give him Jeff top position. Like when Ireland and Tony were equals.

Not a big name just someone who knows the personnel stuff.

Man it would suck to have to go through this all over again. Although I'm convinced this team is more good coaching away from being formidable than good talent away from that. Which means who every comes in has a talented roster to work with.
