Ross to pay for renovations?

The guy buys up extra tickets so casual Miami fans can still watch on TV.
He isn't shy about paying players.
He is (reportedly) going to fund renovations with his own money.

But he's a bad owner because we didn't win enough games. Sometimes I wonder about you people.

Huzienga did all this too. He is a bad owner because he left people in place too long that were not doing a good job

I hope there's a roadblock and this plan completely falls through. It would be devastating for this community and for the two occupying football teams to be stuck in that building and in that location for subsequent decades.

Anything can be misconstrued as a positive if your value system is lame or simple enough. I just changed my transmission fluid. I suppose I could have dumped the old stuff on my lawn or in my pool and briefly marveled at the nice red tint. Disregard the cost in the morning. That's the problem with Steve Ross. All the down the road terrible mornings he causes, based on inept values and decision making toward football. Last year there were threads here touting the resigning of Reshad Jones. Great, assign big money to a mediocrity, because it eases the fear and makes you feel good at the time. You'll fare well applying that concept to every variable. This issue is no different.

My only issue with the JONES contract is they rewarded him way too soon and too much for so little success. We love one season wonders

Not saying that I fully support this but he should flip the bird to the state government and hire ALL out of state workers to do the renovations...

yea that makes absolutely no sense.

I know..

You can tell who has earned only W2s their whole life lol.

Yeap.

Waste of money here. Should take his $400M and pour it into something new in a new location.

Needs a location that speaks to Miami.

Yup.

He is surrounded by morons.

Unless I completely missed it, wasn't he willing to hire only local workers to build the stadium if they allowed the vote and it succeeded? While it won't win him any points, he can pin it back on the government for completely botching the referendum. *shrugs*

WTF is that supposed to mean? I work, yes. I have since I was 12. I put more money into the system by 35 then many do in a lifetime. So I guess my yearly w2 is a bad thing? Should I work under the table? Not following here.

It's a step in the right direction, but I agree that a new stadium would have been better - in a better, more accessible location to reflect present day demographic fanbase realities - like somewhere on the western (Everglades) fringe corridor between Delray and WBP.

Whatever the fraction of the renovation cost Ross gets in tax breaks, he should be commended for putting up his own money. Some owners don't give a penny. Some owners shake down their cities for new stadiums even when they don't need one. Ross makes management mistakes (if only he could find a great President of the team), but I'm giving credit where it's due.

These things go incrementally. 30 years ago owners didn't pay for anything. Maybe 30 years into the future owners will pay all taxes, but it's takes a while for that to happen.

He should be commended for spending his own money on his own business? ...and for getting preferential tax breaks that other businesses don't get? Wow, I guess it doesn't take much to impress people these days.

Are you on crack?

I love Ross. This owner is willing to spend whatever it takes to win. That's all I can ask for in a owner.

University of Miami comes out and formally supports Stephen Ross' stadium plan.

Awsi I've been lobbying so hard for a new dualplex dolphins/canes intelligently designed stadium ever since the move took place from the orange bowl, it's almost as though my crystal ball was so accurate as to how both cultures would deteriote right in front of our eyes it's downright scary, your the only other person ( j-cane as well) who I'm exactly on the same page with when it comes to the disadvantages that the sun life venue presents to both programs and cultures..

So tell me what I'm supposed to do?.... Continue to try and get the masses to understand a vision and hope for a miracle, ( even though it's happening right in front of their eyes out west) or just be grateful that these renovations will at least improve the worst advantage in sports, sa better than nothing approach is what I've been forced to take because of the lack of ingenuity and progressive vision..

For Christ sake my post gets a thumb down and my only interest is to demonstrate that sun life is a cancer and that it is easily attainable to get both programs to go in on one venue, it's financially so lucrative it's a joke, but folks continue to think that this is a win games and it will all go away scenario"..

I'm tired I guess, and frustrated with the lack of intelligence, so I guess I'm just settling for any improvement somewhere.

The only solution I see is somehow getting boosters and officials from the univ of Miami and the dolphins together in one room for a long meeting..anyone has a plan I'm in...maybe a billboard, a newspaper article, idk..
