Think about it. Jeff Ireland got an extension when the team was 3-0. Next year will be the same. A two year deal for Philbin if not more when the Dolphins open the season 3-0 then after getting his extension will go 0-3, 2-1, 3-3, then 0-3 to finish the season.

Ross will give Philbin an extension now (1 year extension in the off season once everyone has calmed down). He will not leave him in the last year of his contract because the assistants will be too easy to pick off and they won't be able to get FAs interested in this scenario. It is Ross' money he is flushing down the drain, as he will end up firing him next year anyway.

Ross gave Ireland an extension during the offseason. He revealed the extension to the public after we began winning.

Hickey and Philbin will be extended another year. This farce will continue into the foreseeable future.
