Roth=AJ Duhe?

From what I have read he was moved to DE because he was not that great as an OLB

If that's true, then that was a very good decision.

And as for David Bowens, Matt Roth, and Jason Taylor being our Hybrid Unit? All I have three words:

Oh.....My....God.....

David Bowens + Matt Roth + Jason Taylor + Channing Crowder = :sr23:

Can anybody say, return of the named defenses? How about the Hybrid Defense? Anyone?

I can't wait till Roth actually plays a down in the NFL! Everyone talks like this guys has a nasty attitude and nobody on our defense does?

I think he will end up at linebacker, maybe moving around much like Duhe did. If he ends up as good as Duhe that would be something. It's nice to be old enough to remember the Dolphins of the 70's. I was seven when the team went undefeated. Those are great memories, but it seems like fewer Dolphin fans date back that far. Guess I'm old too!

Its the mean streak like Ron Heller had Bryan Cox,Roy Williams etc of course we dont have a D filled with "gentlemen" but there is that extra bit that is nice.

Duhe was at first a 3-4 DE, then moved to ILB in the base 3-4, and on passing downs would move around to rush the passer.
As a rookie in 1977 he started out playing RDE in a 3-4. In 1980 he was moved to RILB. In '81, he moved to LILB and remained there the rest of his career. That was in the base defense though. On passing downs Duhe could be anywhere, like we did recently with Jason Taylor playing the so called Cobra position.

As for whether Matt Roth could follow a similar path, it is within the realm of possibility, IMO.

back in 77"?........77!!!! Damn,I'm getting old.

I was watching a replay of the NFL combine this past weekend and they listed Roth at 280 lbs. That is way too big for a LB. He will be used as a DE.

"You ask, What is our policy? I will say; It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us. . . . That is our policy. You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory--victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival."
