Round of Applause for MR Ross.

Fans will be mad because of the media is going to be making fun of the Fins. Time will tell... I'm just glad this crap is over and we can move on. Bring Chud in for an interview...
we will get the last laugh when we are in the playoffs next season and the rams are their usual 5-11 tops.

Yes around of applause for the owner who has made us the laughing stock of the NFL!!!! He shops for Harbaugh without firing Sparano...then to save face said "Tony was the right coach for the Miami Dolphins all along." Really??? BTW: His butt -boy Ireland was right along side him last year during that whole embarrasing fiasco! Now he fires Tony...keeps Ireland...and is suprised that...

He couldn't get Cowher, Gruden, and now Fisher...but he still loves his butt-buddy Ireland who co-built this laughing stock with Parcells. Now we are still stuck with and clue-less owner, a bad GM...and now and unproven hand-me-down coach. Our journey to the dark side of the NFL is now complete!

I have been a Finfan since 1971...why Dear God has this franchise went this far backwards????

I'll appluase Mr. Ross when he fires Ireland.

But he doesn't have the guts to really put his stamp on the team.

We're worse off than the raiders.

Its cool bro. Buy into the negative hype. Jump ship. . . The skiy is falling . . we know we know. . .Cant imagine that the Phins will ever be able to be move on and be successful without the mediocrity that is Jeff fisher. SMH talk about Face palm
A lot of you didn't want Fisher. He's gone. Ya'll are happy so you'll spin this into some great move by Ross even though all he did was fail to accomplish what he set out to do. It's ridiculous, but enjoy yourselves.

Right. These people have their heads so far up their ***** it isn't even funny. Ross didn't MAKE THE DECISION to not get Fisher. Fisher made the decision to choose the Rams. If it were up to Ross, Fisher would be coaching the team. I don't know where these people get their concepts from.

The "negative/sky is falling" people such as myself who have doubted the moves this team has made have been right for like, I don't know, 15 ****ing years straight. If Jeff Fisher is mediocre than what the hell is any other coach on the market? What are you talking about?

The truth is fisher was a great x's and o's coach in Houston and his early stint in Tennessee but by the end his schemes and philosophy had grew old and outdated. The man had 6 seasons of above .500 winning percentage in 16 years ... That my friend is the definition of Mediocrity.

I agree that the sky has been falling view has been right for the last 15 years, im merely trying to point out that this may be the first time in 15 years where the Dolphins stood up and decided to stop being the team that is a complete laughing sock with each and every decision made by the franchise.

Today my friend was a step in the right direction!

Not me. I wasnt sold on fisher but ill undoubtably call him the best available coaching candidate. However Coaches Coach. GMs make personnel decisions thats how it goes these days for most successful organizations. Fisher is not worth the concession. Esp when he was canned in part because of his Personnel Decisions.

If up to the fans, we'd have Kyle Orton and Fisher, which now that I think of it, would be the awesome assembly of average.
Thank you Ross from preventing either, you deserve kudos.

Yea way to go Ross.... We wouldn't want a coach with a proven track record that would have been able to assemble an all star staff.

It's much better to keep Jeff "What's a playmaker?" Ireland[/QUOTE

All star staff...are you sure? the Jets ex OC and some other cast offs!

Failure is a step in the right direction.. Cam Cameron is that you? Fisher went 13-3 with Kerry Collins just 3 years ago. He has won over 12 games 4 times. Our franchise hasn't won over 12 games in over 20 years. Debating the "mediocrity" of Jeff Fisher is pointless now, but regardless of how you feel about Fisher, Ross went after him and missed. He didn't make some brilliant decision by forcing Fisher to reject him. He just missed.

Do I want the Dolphins to be an average team? No, of course not, but last I checked average is better than piss poor. A lot of people called Eli Manning and the Giants average in 07. If you are "average" and you make the playoffs, you have as good of a shot as anybody to win it all.

Ross did make the decesion. When Fisher pushed for more control, he said no. Whether you like the decesion or not, you have to respect him for sticking to his guns. In the 90's I wanted Shula fired and JJ hired. Then after Wanny, I wanted Saban, I wanted Tuna to come here and work his magic. This organization has tried the big name, big Fish (no pun intended, ok maybe it was) time and time again. I am glad that Ross didn't give in to a coach that had never shown he should be given full control and back up the brinks truck, just because he was able to stick around at his last job.

Thats your opinion. Both have been reported. Some say including Schefter that Ross Wouldnt concede MORE control. Others say he would concede CO- control. Either way to me Kudos to Ross. Listen Fisher is a good coach with a dated philosophy but a good coach albeit. However he is not good enough to give FULL control to as far as FO decisions. Coaches should coach. PERIOD

Who is to say another GM couldn't have worked a deal with Reggie or Brandon or Matt Moore, in all likelyhood we would have Dez Bryant on our team and possibly quaterback, and Matt Moore fell into our lap because he wasn't Irelands first choice.

There is that damn possible quaterback thing again. Shame on Ireland of not impregnating that perfect DNA match 25 years ago in preparations for his years as GM for the Miami Dolphins.
