RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

Miller is a super average back.

He does not in any way create his own yardage.

He drops easy passes out of the backfield.

He cannot get tough yards on 3rd and 4th and short - the Dolphins were amongst the leagues worst teams in this category - lost us many tough games.

He is a bit of a fumbler.

He was 62 yard a game back on an 8-8 team.

If the Dolphins could get a for real lineman for him its a no brainer.

I do not get all of the fuss over Lamar Miller.

We could not score on 1st and goal against the Ravens with the season on the line.

We could not maintain possession late in the game against the Packers because the team knew giving Miller the ball was a waste.

We beat the Patriots in week one with Knowshon Moreno.

I mean Dolphin fans are a bit confused IMO.

Miller is a decent change up runner - he does not strike fear in the heart of any opponent - and frankly I'd trade him for a 3rd today without batting an eye.

Damien Williams has more upside - he catches well and has more of bruising back type of style and his shifty enough.

That's me - not a big Lamar Miller fan - he's never done ANYTHING for me because the Dolphin teams he's played has never done anything for me.

8 and 8 is NFL HELL! and that's the extent of Lamar Millers career - 8 and 8. And lets face it he's no Adrienne Peterson on an 8-8 team - he's a just better then average back who has a bit of fumbling problem and will often get crushed running the 3rd and short.

hate to say it I agree with you, hes got good speed but backs are a dime a dozen. if he was gone I don't think our running game would suffer this season.

I'm not attached to Miller. He's a good back, but I'm not convinced he can do anything Damien Williams and/or Jay Ajayi can't. That said, take Jerry Jones for a ride. Demand a first outright or a 3rd and their right guard.

You do know he converted 75% of 3rd/4th and shorts

Miller is a good NFL back, I would not rank him as one of the best 10 backs in the NFL but there is no doubt that he is a good back.
That said no team in the league is trading a first rounder for him. Trading him now without a real plan would be a mistake.
Nobody in their right mind can believe that Jay Ayaji is for sure as good as Lamar Miller at this point.

But I read somewhere that Ajayi could be one of the draft's steals and everybody knows that draft picks always live up to their upside so I'm sure Ajayi is a franchise back despite never even watching him play in college.

You read that? Ok I read that Matt Lienhart was the most NFL ready QB The year he came out. I remember reading John Beck was a steal for Miami in 2nd due to his accuracy and him making anticipated throws. Anyways Ajayi needs to prove it, he was a 5th sélection for a reason so let's not jump gun to trade LM.

Why would Dallas give up a first for a one dimensional RB who will be a free agent next year? Seriously think about that.

Quite honestly, McFadden is a much more talented back. Sure he's forever hurt, but try giving Lamar Miller . . . "Demarco carries" . . . and see how far that gets you.

I could see the interest as a "split time back" but you aren't giving up anything on Day 1 or 2 for that type of RB. It would be interesting if Dallas floated a 4 or 5 if Miami would bite . . . my gut tells me they would.

You'd think people would have learned by now. But here we are.

What the hell did this thread turn into? Who said anything about a 1st round pick? Why would anyone be giving up a 1st round pick for Lamar? That's not what this market is for RBs. Especially, one who's good, but not great and is about to enter his first major contract. His max trade value is probably a 3rd rounder and he's worth more than that to us this year. This 1st round pick trade theory or Zach Martin??? C'mon. Ridiculous.
