RUMOR: Dallas interested in acquiring Lamar Miller

Miller last year proved he was starter material 1000 plus yards as proof, Thomas everyone pretty much agrees has proven little in that direction. Yes a proven starter loss can cost ya a gaame or two

You're the one who invented this whole a starter is a starter nonsense, not me. Lamar Miller is an effective player and a key playmaker on this offense, Thomas is not.

Saying any player does or doesn't knock us out of playoff contention is nonsense. This team has been a key win away from making the playoffs two years in a row despite all the good players we've lost each season. Except for a select few QBs around the league, its hogwash to say a team is done once a single player is gone.

Actually, Phintim started the "starter nonsense":

Maybe as he is our starting RB. That could be said of any of our starters also

I didn't invent that standard, you quoted my response to him.

If this teams chances aren't enhanced or diminished in any significant way by Lamar Miller's presence/absence, then what the hell is the point in keeping him? If its "hogwash", then why not trade him? That draft pick could become a guy who does make the difference between success and failure.

The fault of missing the playoffs lays on the shoulders of one man: Joe Philbin. He might have been handed some troubled rosters, but those rosters were still better then the 2013 Jets/ Bills and 2014 Jets. At the very least the 31-76 point differential is inexcusable. As long as Philbin is the coach of this franchise it really doesnt matter how much we beef up our roster, he will still find a way to screw the pooch.
Also im not understanding this myopic focus the forum seems to have on making the playoffs. The playoffs exist to determine who plays in the Superbowl. And Joe Philbin isn't leading us to a Superbowl.

You'd think people would have learned by now. But here we are.

Now the Browns have the power!

So I start on page 1, and check in on the last page to see it anything further has developed.

Interesting how threads like this get derailed, dragged through the mud, and end up a complete train wreck.

Thanks, Locke.

I would trade him for a quality starting guard, like, yesterday. RBs that are capable will be available all year round. LeMarcus James could get a shot. If Ajayi plays how he looked on film then he'd start, with a good vet RB we can bring in, Damien Williams, James, and..(drumroll, please.... Daniel Thomas)
Hey man, you provide any kind of blocking and Thomas will eat yards, catch the ball, and block.

I love Lamar, but a starting guard OR Quality swing tackle and I make that deal. Maybe we could get Dunbar thrown in.

Just an update, though pretty minor.

Bryan: If I were to trade for a back – Lamar Miller of the Dolphins would be my guy. From just studying both players on tape he is a better fit than Martin. But I do understand what you are asking here and I agree that bringing in another back is not out of the question.

Same journalist, no new information obviously, but the guy isn't letting it go. Its a persistent topic out here, though interesting in the fact that there is absolutely zero information about this at all from Miami's side. I'll keep updating this thread as his name pops up out here regardless.
