I think (not positive, but will look into it) Spotrac uses all salaries, while OTC uses only the top 51, which is what matters.

OK, so you're number was probably more accurate.

Why is armsteads contract still a secret lol
Checking Spotrac now. I love this ****.....

Me too. I'm trying to harness my inner feverdream

Wierd, they had Armstead numbers in there a few days ago, don't know why they are gone now it was something like Base 1.5M Bonus 6.7M can't completely recall.

OK, if those numbers are accurate, and you add in draft pick salary, we would have roughly 4 million in cap space.

So if we wanted to add 1 more good signing, all it would take is Trading Parker and giving Howard his new contract...... OR cut Rowe and Butler.

I guess we'll know Griers intention if we start noticing either of those 2.

Because right now, we don't have to do anything and we're OK cap wise, for now.

Assuming these numbers are accurate haha.

I stink at this, but its fun lol

You don't stink at it. Its a frickin moving target this time of year. The fact is that most fans either don't have the time, or the interest to follow cap workings, but it is difficult to have a realistic perspective of what is going on, what is possible/impossible, etc without having at least some basic knowledge of how it works, the top 51 ramifications, and how it applies to a team's situation.

@Feverdream is more knowledgeable than I, but I do find it interesting and a bit of a side hobby that goes along with being a Phin fan.

As far as having room to sign another big name player? I suppose it is possible, as there are players that could be cut or restructured, but those moves, particularly restructures come at a price to be paid down the road. Creativity is one thing, but mortgaging the future at this point doesn't make much sense to me. Neither does cutting a good player to get another in return, if all it does is create a hole.

For example, I see posters that want to cut Rowe, and while that would free up 5m (IIRC), who do you replace him with, and how much are you really saving in doing so?

Sign the Honey Badger!!! Gotta keep spending till there's nothing left!

I am not sure if he offers this team any more help than what we already have. We actually still need a quality linebacker before we even bother upgrading anything else in defense. We have too many greenwoods, and too many rodgers type of linebackers now, or even crowders lol.

Mathieu can be a huge asset to any team he gets in. In this Era of the NFL it is so crucial to have a player like Mathieu in the back end who can make and recognize calls on the field. Especially since the front 7 are much more detached in terms of responsibility now. He just makes any unit better with his understanding of the game

Well that settles that. Keep Rose. Good with Holland + Rowe/Jones. Love the player but not gonna dwell on what would have been a luxury acquisition.

Let’s get in on Tretter or Wagner. Knock another important need out.
