Rumor - Steelers now in on Ramsey?

Tomlin has NEVER had a losing record in his head coaching career. McDaniel just finished one up in 2024. Not sure how you examine that and say that they are performing the same. But, you do you.
If you want to split hairs and ignore his multiple 8 win seasons (which McD had in his 3rd season, and what Tomlin has had as recent as 5 years ago…which was his 15th season) you can, but I’ve always heard it’s about winning a playoff game. It just seems you’re moving goalposts now. Tomlin is 0-5 in the playoffs over the past 8 years. McD is 0-2 over the past 3 with the context that in one of those losses he had his 7th round, 3rd string rookie QB playing losing by 3 points and in the other they played in KC with -20F weather against the team that went on to beat both the Bills and Ravens in Buffalo and Baltimore before winning the SB. Meanwhile, in 3 of the Steelers last 3 playoff losses they lost against the Bills, Ravens, and Browns. None of them even got to the SB, much less won it.

I just like tomlin style of coaching. He don't need top qb to win. He demand respect in locker room and on field.
Lol… You can’t possibly know anything about how much respect he commands or gets. You’re just flailing now because you hate McD and don’t have an answer to what I wrote.

Bottom line, Tomlin is 0-5 in the playoffs over the past 8 years. If that were McD you’d be calling for him to be fired a long time ago.

I’m not moving goalposts that I never set in the first place. The bottom line is that Tomlin is about 10x the coach that McDaniel is and has been.

And McDaniel didn’t have a winning record with him so what’s your point
Tomlin had a HoF QB for 15 of his 18 years. And if not for his first 3 years as HC while having a prime Big Ben and a team mostly built and coached by Cowher he’s done next to nothing. Tomlin has coached his last 3 out of 18 seasons without Ben. And Pickett and Wilson are 100x the QB Skylar is.

Hes went 39-29 in the last 10 years without Big Ben. McDaniel has had 3 QBs other than Tua and is 3-7 with those QBs. He hand picked those QBs. Seems like Tomlin has built a good team and knows how to adjust and still win with subpar QB play.

And you can say that about every coach. Andy Ried isn't **** without a prime Patrick Maholmes.

Agree 100% with the first part.

Disagree a bit on Andy Reid, who has done well with McNabb and Alex Smith, too.

Keep Smith and Ramsey. Trade for Alexander and that makes us a Superbowl Contender.

There were plenty of Dolphins fans who wanted Shula gone the last half decade he was coaching the Dolphins. Fan bases, get spoiled by the success they have had and assume that they are going to get better with a coaching change. Most of the time it doesn’t pan out that way.

Shula and Tomlin just going thru the motions

I was being sarcastic to his point of Tomlin not doing anything without Big Ben. Reid is a great coach regardless but he didn’t win a superbowl without PM. Just like many great coaches and their QBs.

Yeah. The Tomlin style that averaged a whopping 14 points a game last 3rd of the season.

But hey, they look at tough and gruff doing it.

yeah it's another thread derailed by people who just want argue. Happens to every thread. Happy my house is nothing like that.
Isn’t that the point of a message board? Healthy debate? It often becomes unhealthy debate here, but that’s just the world we live in now.
