If you want to split hairs and ignore his multiple 8 win seasons (which McD had in his 3rd season, and what Tomlin has had as recent as 5 years ago…which was his 15th season) you can, but I’ve always heard it’s about winning a playoff game. It just seems you’re moving goalposts now. Tomlin is 0-5 in the playoffs over the past 8 years. McD is 0-2 over the past 3 with the context that in one of those losses he had his 7th round, 3rd string rookie QB playing losing by 3 points and in the other they played in KC with -20F weather against the team that went on to beat both the Bills and Ravens in Buffalo and Baltimore before winning the SB. Meanwhile, in 3 of the Steelers last 3 playoff losses they lost against the Bills, Ravens, and Browns. None of them even got to the SB, much less won it.Tomlin has NEVER had a losing record in his head coaching career. McDaniel just finished one up in 2024. Not sure how you examine that and say that they are performing the same. But, you do you.
