Russell Wilson could have been a Miami Dolphin

It was still a great play to give his guy a chance in a situation where the play was otherwise dead, he had pressure in his face, had to throw the ball across the field, and had nothing to lose. That's great awareness. This should all be obvious.

It reminded me of the Joe Montana - Dwight Clark catch. Joe Montana admitted that he couldn't see Dwight Clark, and he never actually saw the catch. Montana was trapped by the sidelines, and just threw it up to where he guessed Dwight Clark would be, and Montana only knew it was a touchdown by the roar of the crowd.

except that was thrown to a spot where the defender had no shot at the ball, and hit him in stride full speed....wilson got a little lucky it was a rookie staring at his throw for a few seconds mid-air and then failing to make a pretty elementary play on the 2 pt conversion....nothing wrong with a little luck just saying.

this thread was predictable

I agree that the hail mary 2pt conversion was a good play. However, I expect that even if it resulted in an interception, the same "at least he kept the play alive giving his players a chance" would be maintained by the same folks who, if it had been Tannehill, would be chastising him for being careless with the ball. :idk: It's largely a matter of ingrained preconceptions

Rusell Wilson would have been killed behind the OL of the past two seasons.

We definitively KNOW that Tannehill isn't capable as such. Tannehill is taking average talent....to an average record.

And here is the Dolphins homer..... average talent.....:chuckle: League's worst OL is AVERAGE talent. 32 points allowed per game by AVERAGE talent... :bobdole:

Our annual thread about how almost anyone could have been a Dolphin! Hooray! ;)

Wilson lost every game this year where his defense allowed more than 24 points .... Ryan Tannehill puts up 36 vs Denver and losses and gets the blame .

that's a noteworthy stat.. thanks

It should be noted that when Russell Wilson was at Wisconsin, he set the single season NCAA Division I record for passing efficiency (191.8).

In the NFL, he continues to be an efficient passer, even when throwing to undrafted WRs Doug Baldwin & Jermaine Kearse.

Russell Wilson is simply an efficient passer, and over the long-run, his passer rating is going to be good, no matter what.

He also led all NFL QBs with 849 yds rushing (7.2 yd avg).

I have a feeling that Russell Wilson could raise the Lombardi Trophy every year, and there would still be haters saying that he's "average".

What happened to Wilson at NC State? His efficiency was nearly identical to Ryan Tannehill's at A&M.

I'll tell you the difference. At Wisconsin, they played a run first offense. His passing attempts went way down. The opposing defenses keyed on the run. Sound familiar?

Here is another, his passer rating has no impact on their W-L record. Meaning, even when he plays like crap, they are just as likely to win as when he plays great.

Can the same be said about Tannehill and the Dolphins? No way.

No impact? When his passer rating is below 80 they are 6-6. That is 50%. The team wins at a much higher rate than 50% overll and especially when his passer rating is 90 or higher, so how is that having "no impact?"

In fact they are 26-5 for an 84% win percentage when his rating is 90+ and 6-6 when his rating is 80 or below, but yeah, no impact....

5 hours left (around) to watch that QB that "could of been a Miami Dolphin"
