Russell Wilson could have been a Miami Dolphin

Wouldn't matter... Our coaches always hold us back.

Unfortunately, that often appears to be the case.

Case in point: Ryan Tannehill is actually a very good rusher with good field view. He makes good decisions on the move. Regardless of that, however, neither Sherman nor Lazor appear to want to let him leave the pocket. They expect him to remain in the pocket till the end rather than try to make something out of nothing.

How can that be?

But let's not forget to blame him for at least a chunk of the sacks he has taken. Goof ball should have left the pocket and thrown it away.

Sounds like you guys think they could have just thrown Matt Flynn in there and made this run since Wilsons play has "no impact"! Seattle came out nowhere when WILSON got there. HOW STRANGE!

I said it early in this circle jerk of a thread, but it bears repeating:

Tannehill was more of a first round no brainer.. but if you want play the "what if" game, please understand that we now have as the top football "brainiac" Mike Tannenbum, who ignored Terry Bradways's continued urging to steal Wilson in the 2nd round, or jump up a couple of slots in the 3rd round.. instead, putting his team into cap hell by unnecessarily extending The Buttfumbler, who just finished the season as the leading turnover king, blowing the last 3 games and focusing in on drafting the mighty Stephen Hill as the 2nd round solution to the receiver issues.

Yes, folks, if any fans have a more realistic reason for anger and regret, it's the NY Jets. But at least they're rid of that moron, eh?

lol

I can't believe anyone would even deny that Wilson is a great player.

What I can't understand are those people who deny Tannehill is a good QB but think that Russell Wilson is an elite QB. Sounds like the kind of fan who hates his own team for some weird reason.

Russell Wilson is extremely overrated.

I'm sure thats been said of every great young QB putting up elite type numbers. Its been said of Roethlisberger (people still claim they were right to label Roethlisberger as nothing special his first few seasons). I'm sure its been said of QBs like Rodgers, Warner, Brees and even Marino. I used to say the same thing about Brady his first few seasons in the league. But how often do QBs look to be elite, or at least in the conversation, and win games at a 70% plus clip after their first 3 or 4 seasons but they turn out to be just average? I can't really think of any examples.

I am excited to compare Wilson's numbers to Luck's and RT's vs. the Pats.

If the patriots shut down that run today and make Wilson and Seattle pass to beat them and he then gets it done that will open my eyes...I'm gonna count the number of single highs I see today looks for them and all the one on one coverage looks...if the pats get them behind the chains and the kid can't rely in the run game and he carves em up I will say so

I doubt the scoreboard though ever gets so out of reach they break character with that hawks d although the chancellor Sherman and Thomas injuries could be major players...I'm hoping that they aren't limited cause that would be massive for the hawks d

Id really like to see the Seahawks have to go to plan b for once

RT should have had two or three more TD passes in Foxboro. Drops and lack of concentration.

Wilson has been to two super bowls, and andrew luck has been to zero, and just got creamed by new england, but luck is a far better qb. In same way, rw's superbowls have zero relevance to how good he is versus how good RT is. Put Rw behind this line fir past 3 years and he would look completely awful. Put rt on the seahawks and there would be a similar story other way around.

The Article is stupid.

Wilson is a solid QB. 3400 yards and 800 yards rushing. Not your traditional QB but he's found ways to make plays when needed. It helps having the best defense in the league, but that is what football is. A team sport. Everyone so focused on QB's. Romo has never been able to make the playoffs for years because of the lousy defense Dallas has had, and the mediocre running game. This year they improved their oline. Defense played better, and DM was finally healthy and they went 12-4. Cardinals went 12-4 with 3 different QBs through great coaching and defense. In a QB driven league, the other players matter just as much as the QB.

As what? A 4000+ yd passer? Probably so.

But they jettisoned their two best receivers and made it back to the Super Bowl, so I would say he is pretty damn good.

I think he is extremely limited.

Watch the Pats today give him a muddle rush…they cannot rush the passer anyways. They will hem in the pocket and he will not be able to see, nor run, plus the Pats CB's will plaster his receivers. Wilson will have no answers.

Go look up the game plan of the Jets in the late 90's (Belichick was the DC) vs. Doug Flutie of Buffalo. It will be the same and Flutie was dominated.

i agree....quarterbacks have different skill sets, weaknesses, and strengths ....it takes a team to put together a roster and gameplan that emphasizes those attributes and optimize his play. seattle has done that with wilson, and that's why every team either has, or is busy looking for a qb worth building around.

Wouldn't it be easier to just look at the last time Belichick faced Wilson where he threw for 300 yards, 3 TDs and had a 133 passer rating? Just in that one game Wilson had a higher passer rating (133) and higher Y/A (10.9) than Tannehill has ever had in his entire career. In Foxborough too.
