Russell Wilson could have been a Miami Dolphin

Super bowl contender? No. But Wilson beats the Jets at home to clinch a playoff birth in 2013. That much I am certain.

with that seattle d i'm sure he does  they know how to snuff out spread you out red zone qb sneaks and gimmick bs offense in the red zone

Russell Wilson could have been taken by any team as a third rounder, just like Brady, who was the 199th pick.

You never know how someone will turn out, but you still need good coaches, a solid defense, and a complete team to win. I doubt Wilson would have accomplished more than Tannehill if we had drafted him.

Russel Wilson on the Dolphins with the same personnel groups that Tannehil was working with wins one of those games in Buffalo, or at home against the Jets to clinch a playoff birth. No doubt in my mind. Better QB. Far more polished. High end intangibles, leadership, and clutch ability.

You can think of him as a by product of Seattle's supporting all you want. They were 7-9 in 2011 with a great defense and Marshawn Lynch.

And Willie Mays could have been a red sox.....Roberto Clemente could have been a cub....Ralph Samson could have been a laker and I could have finished college.....smh

I still rather have RT.

Face it, would Wilson thrive on a team with a bottom 10 D? I highly doubt that. Hes a good a QB but I think RT is better. Just my opnion

it's not that simple but you can try to make it be

And Michael Jordan could have been a Portland Trailblazer, but they took Sam Bowie instead, and he had gimpy ankles. It's always easy to look back and say we coulda/shoulda....like you mentioned. :err:

Yeah, I agree completely.

Had the Dolphins drafted Brees or signed him as a free agent, he would have gone nowhere.

If Philbin is given enough time to draft and develop his own players I think the Dolphins would be a consistent playoff team but....

they would always get beat like the packers just did or like any of marty Schottenheimer's teams did in the playoffs

Just as so, I think Tannehill in Seattle would be improved. He may not have the same pocket-instincts as Wilson, or the same deep-ball, but if he got to use his legs more from the get-go, I think Ryan would pick up on evasive maneuvers at the Pro level faster than he did in Miami, where he was mostly chained to the pocket; and with the read-option, Lynch running the ball, a shut-down D, and Carroll as HC, that's a dangerous squad

Wilson is an average QB in a great system that doesn't ask him to do much. The great thing about Wilson is he has a high football IQ and doesn't turn the football over very often. This keeps him more than serviceable in the NFL. Should the core of the Seahawks ever have to rebuild, Wilson's productivity would suffer because he would need to do more. That's a great running game with a great offensive line with one of the truly great defenses of all-time. But, the Seahawks right now are struggling a good bit offensively. They struggled to move the football against a horrid Green Bay defense and should have lost that game if Green Bay werent so overrated each and every year. Green Bay and Seattle are polar opposites. I can't figure out how Green Bay can't figure themselves out. Each and every year they're an average team with a GREAT QB. Everywhere else they either average or poor. Poor defense. Poor special teams. Average lines. But, Aaron Rodgers is so great that he can carry them deep on his own...until they run into complete teams like Dallas and Seattle who expose their obvious flaws. Certain guys work in certain systems. Look at Darrelle Revis. Remember when Tampa fans were jacked when they signed him and I said it would be a flop signing because Revis can't play in that kind of system? So he goes to New England where they run a system that he fits and suddenly everyone says he's "back to the old Revis." If Russell Wilson were in Miami, we'd be no better off than we are today. We'd be in virtually the same spot.

I'm not talking about the days when defenses were destroying NFL offenses left and right. Dilfer and Brad Johnson were part of another era. Doubt those teams win Super Bowls in today's NFL.

I don't think Brady or Manning are better than Marino, but we don't have those guys on this team. We have Tannehill, who has an under .500 record as a 3-year starter. Sorry, I'm not buying what you or the others are selling. I want a winner, and what Russ has done since becoming a starting QB is win. Ryan has lost. He's getting better

Let's not act like Wilson doesn't make some amazing throws/runs either. Tannehill is out here blasting bullets to receivers 4 yards away. Doesn't have the touch or deep ball Russ has.

Tannehill is under .500 or the dolphins as a team? See, that's the problem I have with what you're spewing.

Coaching, o-line, defense, ST, and running game all factor into the equation. I don't care what anyone else says... if we had a more competent HC, we def win the GB game this season, and more than likely win the DET game. Then, you wouldn't be spewing this "never gets over .500" crap.

The only people who believe Tannehill > Wilson are Dolphins fans.

This is the exact definition, perfect example, of homerism.

I know plenty of people who aren't Dolphins fans who don't think Wilson is anything special . Getting a piggy back ride doesn't make you a great qb. He's average

Lol you're my guy hoops, but what I'm saying is irrefutable, and you know it. The other factors you'd like point out are largely insignificant in the grand scheme of things. We're talking about elevating what's around you. We're talking about execution and consistency.

You are what you are. It's undeniable that Wilson elevates teams play. He's a proven commodity now. He did it in college, and he's doing in the Pros. There's no proof that Tannehill does as such. None. That's simply the reality right now. It could change, but that's what it is today.

Simple question.

Given what we know based of their collective body of work to date, if you needed to win one game right now, which quarter back do you want under center? If you're honest with yourself, I think we both know the answer.
