Ehh, I think you're overlooking a major aspect here, and thus skewing reality.
You're saying Wilson makes his team better and Tannehill doesn't, as though that's fact, but what's also fact is that Wilson's team around him is indeed better than Tanne's despite the QB position. Making a serviceable team better is easier than making a lousy team, good. Just look at the coaching. Carroll and Philbin, you'd put them on equal footing? Dan Quinn and Coyle? Tannehill's OC since college is Mike Sherman, only having Lazor for 1 year? Some hefty differences here, and I just don't see it.
Here's what we know
definitively.
Russel Wilson can elevate what is essentially a balanced team, to MULTIPLE Super Bowls. That's a fact.
What we don't know, is if he can carry an average one to the post-season. But based of what I've seen, and factoring in those leadership qualities and intangibles, I sure as hell wouldn't bet against it.
We definitively KNOW that Tannehill isn't capable as such. Tannehill is taking average talent....to an average record.
What we DON'T know definitively about Tannehill is if he had a supporting group similar to that of the Seahawks, CAN he maximize that situation? I'm definitely not sure, and if you, or anyone else say they are sure he could, I think you'd be deluding yourself a bit.
Some on here (Tannehill zombies) like to foolishy simplify Wilson's impact on the Seahawks as merely as riding a great defense and running game to glory.
Well if that's the case, then why were they a 7-9 team before him?
If quarterbacking is as simple as riding a great team, then why haven't the Bengals, who have Super Bowl level skill posistion talent, and a defense to boot, why can't they get to the next level, since it's so easy? I'll tell you why? Cuz their QB is a trash can masquerading as a quarterback.
You can be blessed with great personnell groups on both sides of the ball, but the quarterback still got to go out there and execute and make winning plays. Wilson is proven, that he is EXACTLY that.
I'm waiting to see if Tannehill can do as such.
