Russell Wilson's 1st year stats... chill on Tua.

Bottom line. The way you keep track of a QBs efficiency is completions!

I was under the impression Tua's super-natural ball placement made incompletions impossible???

Maybe the product is not as advertised????

If you think completion percentage is really the best way to measure QB efficiency, 1990 called and has some updated analytics for you to catch up on.

Who's a better quarterback, Derek Carr or Aaron Rodgers?

But of course. What really matters is hand size!

IMO the reaction today has less to do with Tua’s stats and everything to do with the fact the offense looked absolutely horrendous with him under center. Benching Fitzpatrick gave fans the idea that we would immediately see an improved offense; especially with 2 weeks to prepare. Personally I would have liked to see one scoring drive that didn’t result from a turnover on a shortened field. Even a FG drive would have given us something to build on.

Since you asked - It means there is precedent for great QBs starting off shaky. In other words, if you are worried we have a ****ty QB on our hands, there is plenty of evidence based on the career trajectory of those that came before him to suggest he will get better, or in the case of Wilson, even great.
if you wanna say because tua started off shaky doesn't mean he can't or won't be great, i have no problem with that. i won't argue it. but saying because russell wilson did it, tua can or will do it is nonsense. what russell wilson has done has ZERO bearing on what tua will do. can we get randy on this to check my use of bearing vs baring?

Wow. Amazing reference.

So we can say that every hyped QB that comes into the league

and blows out of the gate is destined to be a "Russel Wilson!"

I hope the kid succeeds but the nonsense / insanity that surrounds his

apparent holly grail is so over the top it's

We won the game today despite his performance! That's the reality.

The kid did NOT put together ONE (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) sustained drive. NOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know but just seems to me that's on the QB. Let alone how he "stepped up"

on his first pass attempt right INTO pressure and fumbled.

I guess I'm just missing something about how GREAT that was????
Keep holding out hope that Rosen will develop. You seemed to believe he was the savior.

Too funny!

Rosen was (past tense) chosen!

Never to be confused with savior!

...brush up on your history!

yeah. seriously. you tell me. how does anything russell wilson did have any meaning or impact on what tua will do? i won't wait. because i know. it is absolutely meaningless and has zero affect.
Wilson and Tua are similar size, style and

You are missing the fact that other players did not complete their catches and/or run effectively. When playing with the lead a run heavy offense is typically used albeit a little later if you want to slap that on Chan. But not putting together drives when he doesn't have play calling abilities yet, receivers drop simple on target passes and RBs can't even gain a yard, you are hamstrung.

I get what you are saying, if someone is actually saying "Because Russell got better, then Tua will too" then yes, no relation and without merit. However i'm not seeing that being said here - or at least that not how I take what the OP said. More like Russell is being presented as an example of another QB, now known to be good, who started off shaky. So we know it can happen with an NFL QB, or to put it another way, "doesn't mean he can't".

Anyway, we are borderline talking about semantics here so again I will say I understand what you are getting at.

Really?

I was thinking hoodwinked!

But that smells like baked balderdash!

You haven't be watching PW closely then.

That's why Tua is going to have to take his super natural ball placement and make it extra-super natural ball placement in order not to hit Williams between the numbers.

Tua did not win today...the Dolphins won today. And there were probably 20 guys that contributed to the win more than Tua.

Maybe next week, he'll be a key reason we win but even then they are team wins. Individuals win track and field events...

Well said....

In all fairness one was at his feet...

Tho he has big feet!

That is a pretty good post. He was in his 5th start before having a game of 200+ yards. Nice
Thank you for actually taking the time to analyze the stats and correctly arrive at what I was suggesting as a possibility (albeit super subtly). Not sure why some people completely misinterpret (badly) a mere suggestion and then run with it in the completely wrong direction and then have the audacity to get mad at you... for their studity. I don't know. Some peope are just kinda a-holes looking for a fight where there is none. Whatever. We won today. I'm happy! And no one is going to ? on that.
