Ryan Leaf calls Tua check down Charlie & conservative & fearful of his ability to get the ball downfield

It just in opinion from ex nfl qb...tell will tell if he is right or wrong..we need good qb to compete against top team in AFC..rather it Tua or somebody else. If we want win SB. .
Yes, but my point is that it's an opinion from somebody whom I suspect didn't gather much information to base that opinion on.

Yes like I said in time we will know what we got in Tua. Tua will be tested this yr. Less see how this year play out first.

It took me a while to warm up to Chris Simms. I loathed his Dad calling Dolphins games because of his obvious jealousy of Marino and hatred for our team.

Chris has won me over. I suffer threw Florio to hear Chris's opinion. He seems to do his homework unlike a lot of people like Leaf, Saturday, etc that just show up and flap their gums. I may not like Chris's take on Tua but I respect the reasons for his position.

The fact that Ryan Leaf was basically right in his analysis doesn't make him an easy one to accept. Ryan was such a monumental failure as player, and then as a person thereafter... but he's right in this instance-- Tua DID check down too often and too quickly most of the time. He frequently make bad decisions on RPOs and cost us a few TDs that way... but he was a freaking rookie and is already better than leaf ever was... so there's that.

The REAL question is whether he'll get better, and I've been pretty consistently saying that I think he will. ...and if he does, none of this will matter.

Without watching (I may later), my first thought is who gives a flyin football what Leaf thinks?

Dude was mentally fragile, to the point of being unstable.
Hey, Mark, everyone here think we know what we talking about, including yours truly....lol.
But then, an ex NFL qb, say something we don't agree, then he is unstable. Just sayin.

Isn't he some kind of addict? How can we be sure he was clean when watching film and not out in the desert chasing coyotes.
I could be wrong, but I think he was struggling with opioids and was caught stealing them or something? Whatever Mr. Leaf. I don't know I'd want Jamarcus Russell's analysis either. Or Todd Marinovich for that matter.

Seems so odd to me nobody mentions covid, no pre-season, rehab hip best you can within a year, then throw him out after half a season with Fitz starting, and expect a Marino performance with the WR crew of 2020? We lived with Tannehill for so long, lets give Tua a solid opportunity in 2021 and hell - even 2022 before moving on. Seems like a great guy and team player. WTF do I know though, I live in Denver.

Right and who exactly was he pushing the ball down field to? Grant(like the big one he dropped?), Bowden? Perry?

Clown Qb, Clown post.

I can agree that it seemed like to a Tua did checkd own too much, but I'd really like you to explain the frequently making bad decisions in RPO's comment. I would like to know how you knew if it was a presnap or post snap read and how you got that inside information. I'm guessing you're going back to the analysis of one commentator showing that he missed an open guy during the game, yet if it was a pre-snap read by doing a box count it would have been an automatic run no matter what. I think comments like this hold absolutely no weight because Tua has proven to be one of the better quarterbacks to ever run RPO coming out of college.

Ryan Leaf is unstable whether you agree with him or not. He's lucky he isn't in prison right now

I want some of those drugs he's having now. Looks like he can live a normal life, get high, and not break into people's homes.

Ryan Leaf was picked right after Peyton Manning, can you freaking imagine. One player is a model citizen, a brilliant QB, a Super Bowl winner and a member of the Hall Of Fame first ballot. The other player goes down as the biggest bust in NFL history. Leaf then compounds his poor performance in the NFL by being a complete jack *** as a human being. I'm deeply interested in his opinions, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's so jealous of Tua that it's sickening!! Leaf finished with 14 TD versus 36 picks in his very short NFL career. John Lennon wrote a song about him called, I'm A Loser!!!
