Ryan TanneFiedler

How can he have had a decent deep ball yet he missed Chambers open too many times?

He did hit quite a few deep ones. I can remember several off of the top of my head.

The beautiful throw in the 4th qtr to Chambers to beat the Colts in Indianapolis 27-23. I was at that game. Lorenzo Bromell broke Peyton's jaw.

The deep ball to Leslie Shepherd vs the Jests in the infamous miracle at the meadowlands game. That was the throw that put us back on top after the Jests came all the way back to tie.

While Fiedler missed way too many times, he did manage to connect on occasion. Sadly, in two years I can only think of a couple of nice deep throws that Tannehill hit.

Some people are so nut they have to defend Fiedler in an attempt to make Tannehill look bad. :bobdole:

7.3 YPA with an 80 passer rating is a very strange stat combination for Fiedler, generally when you get over 7 YPA you are close to or above 100 PR . Not sure how that happens but its similar to Colin Kaepernick's stat line, though kaep's stats are still much better. An indication of an average QB with a great team around him? Or maybe the opposite?

Fiedler has a playoff win.

Fiedler has a playoff win because he played on a very good team that was able to overcome having a very average and limited Quarterback. The Dolphins teams that he was on would have won a lot more playoff games if they had a better QB. Fiedler even being the QB during those years was a result of the idiot Wannstedt determining that he could count on his defense and ride Ricky Williams onto the ground, passing game be damned. And of course, being Dave Wannestedt, he screwed it up, even worse than he did in Chicago. Wannstedt was handed a team with loads of talent and mismanaged in at misdrafted in into the ground, up until the team became a joke and he was forced out. To this day I don't blame Ricky Williams for telling him to f*** off, running him 40 times or so in the meaningless last game of the year against the Jets was inexusible, idiot move, and selfish- risk Ricky's health to make himself look better as per W-L record. But I digress.

Well in the two years being combined by the OP you'd see that Tannehill's longest pass in 2012 was 80 yards and in 2013 it was 67.

Fiedler's longest pass in his first year was 71 and in this next year it was 64. Let's not act like Fiedler's long ball was so much more epic.

He also had pocket awareness, the ability to scramble and when he scrambled he had HEART. Remember that game winning TD vs. the Raiders in the first game back after 9/11?

Fiedler was a leader and had guts. He threw a decent deep ball, but he missed a wide open Chambers deep way too many times. His inability to connect with Chambers killed us in so many games. It was the one thing that cost us a SB run with that team.

Fiedler did not have the arm strength of Tannehill, but overall he was a much better QB.

Much better Quarterback? I have to save this one for posterity...lmfao!

Tell you what...When Tannehill is in year 6 and 7 of his career lets revisit that statement again for a good laugh.

Fiedler may have been gutsy, but he was a completely mediocre quarterback and his career numbers reflect that. He blew many a big game including two embarrasing interceptions in overtime to lose the midnight miracle game against the Jets.

Agreed. There are so many better options..................

Tannefail. Tannebust. Tannebum. Tannescrub. Hennehill. Turnoverhill. Mediocrehill. Ryan Runofthemill.

Perhaps you should seek out some comedy forums. Football just isn't your thing. Melty 4-12, Ireland "like a boss", good for you that embarrassing yourself on a public forum doesn't dampen your enthusiasm.

Jay Fiedler was sacked 23 times in 2000 and 27 times in 2001 and some of you genius's think that is an equivalent situation to the 2013 Dolphins where tannehill was sacked 58 times in one season?

Not to mention nearly 100 more rushing attempts each year. Also, in 2000 they scored 6 more points than the 2013 Dolphins and allowed 109 fewer points.

Fiedler has a playoff win.

and that ties him with Tebow and Ryan (although Tebow is batting .500, Fiedler .333(I believe) and Ryan .200 so I guess that puts Fiedler middle-of-the-mediocres, eh?)
