ryan tannehill....dave hyde's a believer

CK.... agree about the oils... both are used too early and too often....

You know the phrase... "best chance to win"... is not far away..... imo they have nothing to lose by holding Tanny back a while.... OL in flux.... WR's are inexperienced.... new system with probably no more than 60-70% installed.... I'm not seeing Danny when I look at Tanny... and he didn't start the season either.....

I'm happy to hear that Tannehill is doing well, hopefully his under pressure plays start to get better too. If he improves in that area, then I think at some point in the season, based upon Garrard/Moore struggles/injuries, we will hear the "best chance to win" phrase and see Tannehill make a start.

The fact that it's looking like he belongs this early, to me clearly speaks of his talent and potential despite his lack of experience. At this point i'm pretty much changing my mind and I want to get him the experience.

Looking like he belongs?

I'm glad to hear the rookie isn't falling on his face ..... but guys seriously, let's be reasonable here. He's practicing vs 2's!! Future UPS drivers of America! At the very least his play warrants consideration for getting him some snaps vs. the 1's but he hasn't done a damn thing yet. Patience.

what else would you call it? it's obvious it looks like he belongs in the quarterback competition.

Remind me again, will teams be trotting out defenses full of reserves and 2's in the regular season? No.

This is what I hate about training camp reporting. It's always extreme. We won't know anything if/until Tanny faces legit competition. Right now he's showing he's better than the 2's. That's about all you can label it as. His ball placement and arm strength sound great right now. But the variables changes when he's facing legit defenders. How will those things look when he's trying to mentally break down the defense he's seeing vs. players with better skill sets? We don't know that yet. Your level of competition can make you look better than you actually are or worse.

Right now Garrard and Moore are the only two guys practicing vs. the 1's and to compare their performances vs. Tanny's is like comparing Apple Juice to Champagne in terms of defense. It's a hollow comparison. I put my money on it that if Moore of Garrard were practicing vs. the 2's and looking great, everyone would be saying the same thing I'm saying about Tanny's performance. Funny how that is.

What exactly is extreme about saying that he "looks like he belongs"?

That's the most non-extreme, milquetoast, blue henry, faint method of praising someone I've ever seen.

Don't you think you're just a little bit guilty right now of trying to look like the smartest guy in the room by cautioning against extremism...in a case where the person said something that was not to be perceived in any way as extreme whatsoever?

Not at all. He's not facing starting caliber NFL competition. How can he belong yet without having proven he can handle that level? Is that a Chinese Riddle?

This is because people are so antsy and impatient that they're looking to crown the next major Dolphins QB. You guys would all be saying the same thing if it were Garrard/Moore vs. the 2's ..... just admit it.

LOL. Ok. Whatever.

I'm with Hoops here. If it is a tough decision determing which of the three stood out,the decision is easy. Tannehill should be the starter.

I think your painting of "he looks like he belongs" as extremism is absolutely absurd. I think it's the same kind of usual "I'm gonna look like the smartest guy in the room by painting myself as moderate next to other peoples' extremes" that is far more common on this and other message boards than even the extreme opinions to which you vow opposition.

I mean I'm just looking at it from mile high. Ryan Tannehill goes out there with second string wide receivers and second string offensive linemen going up against second string defensive linemen and defensive backs, and looks impressive.

Someone says, "Well at least he looks like he belongs"

You say, "MY GOD WHAT AN OVERREACTION I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE BEING SO EXTREME OMFGGGG!!!!!!!!"

Which one REALLY looks more extreme, here? Lol.

Who does he belong with CK?

Hint: The 2's .... that's about all he's proven right now and I know you can't argue with that so you're making the conversation about me with your psychoanalysis-babble. BTW, was I supposed to lay down on the leather sofa while you analyze? :ponder:

Hyde's opinion carries a lot of weight with me. He has a way of keeping things in perspective.

Speaking of keeping things in perspective... He's doing this against the 2's right? Let's see what he's like against the 1's... in Pads also!

Like the positivity, but let's wait and see...

Well, there is way too much football left to make a assertion of Tannehill but I will say hearing anything positive at this point from the media is a new experience, they damn sure didn't write like this about Henne, White, Beck etc...

Well, Garrard, Moore and Tannehill sure beat Henne, Beck, and McCown.
